WOYWW 313

Good Morning Deskers, Followers and All,

It's the first Wednesday in June and the first day after the storms and, of course, it's What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday brought to us by our lovely Head Desker, Julia ... all reasons to be happy :)

At one point during the storms I thought the power might go off so decided it would be wise to shut down the computer, leave the craft room and keep the EM (my husband) and The Boss (Bonnie the cat) company in the living room. There's nothing quite like having company through a storm. Our Sky TV satellite was acting up with the picture pixilating, etc., and threatening to shut down altogether so I grabbed a tray of goodies to keep me craftily occupied while we all watched a film instead. And the tray is still on my desk this morning! On it is my stash of cardstock snippets, a box of teeny sized dies, the mini die-cutting machine and a box to store all the teeny die cuts - the results of my labour. It was fun cutting each die out and the EM actually enjoyed seeing what can be done with a die-cutting machine ... he even started investigating how it works!!! Who knows, he may get the bug and want to try it out for himself - one can hope :)

That's me this week, short and sweet as required. Because of all that horrible weather we've been having our Julia needs cheering up so show her your desk if you will and help brighten her day :)

Apologies to anyone I didn't get back to last week. I did do well, for me, but life got in the way, as it is prone to do, and my plan to visit everyone had to fall by the wayside. However, I will do my best to make amends this week - but I don't promise that I can do it all in one day, I'm much to slow for that :)

In the meantime, I wish you all a great week and a Happy WOYWW.

The weather has been awful for June hasn't it, Elizabeth. Thankfully, we have some lovely sunshine this afternoon so I'm heading out after tea to tidy up the garden. The wind blew my climbing rose down so I want to sort it out before it gets damaged as it's full of buds.
Lets hope real summer is just round the corner.

We've been having miserable weather in Southern Ontario, Canada, as well - today is the first day we have warmth and sunshine since June started. It;'s always good to keep yourself nice and busy during a storm, much better than worrying! Stay warm - thanks for sharing! Lindart #51

I think you've had it a lot worse than us...we had high winds but not a storm. Today has been really quite lovely, I've been weeding in fact!
Hope you are ok,

I hope the weather improves for you soon - it has been awful but today the sun is shining and it feels a bit more like summer. x Jo

I had to give up yesterday as we had a LOT of flickering lights, not weather related, but due to a fluctuating power supply! Felt safer to power down the Mac till it stopped! Sunny today, tho' so back to desk hopping...

Happy WOYWW!

We had some crazy thunderstorms here in New York City over this past weekend! It is amazing how we can always find something crafty to do. I like to do the same thing as you...create while I watch movies or TV.

Glad your electricity didn't go out. Storms came through and we did loose power for several hours, rare for us. Looking forward to seeing the die cuts you make. I haven't made that plunge, yet. Not sure if I will although I enjoy using them when I get them in a swap. Diane #28

Golly, I'm having trouble getting my internet to work tonight. I'm so slow, even though I've been at it for over an hour. I feel for you and your possible power outage. I know what that's like. But spending time with Hubby and Bonnie more than made up for it, I'm sure.

Happy belated WOYWW from #5.

I know all about no power! Our country's infrastructure is slowly but surely falling apart. We have what they call 'load shedding' which means when the electricity supply is under pressure they shut our electricity off for a few hours. So very frustrating.
I have become quite good at crafting by candle light.
Happy belated WOYWW!
