Friday Smiles

Hello Everyone,

Another Friday and so another day to join in with Annie at A Stitch In Time with what has made me smile this week. As usual, there's been a lot of good things happen but very few photos taken. However, something that has been making smile is the many winter roses in my garden. They have survived the below zero temperatures - amazing.

Here's just a few.

Just the thing to cheer me up at this time of the year.

Finally, here's a funny found on-line recently. As someone on a diet, the message appealed to me greatly.

There's nothing like a mug of hot chocolate when the temperature has plummeted!

Happy Friday,

Don't you miss chocolate when you're on a diet! I do. I always had sachets of Highlights or Options to combat a yearning for chocolate!
Your winter roses are absolutely beautiful! Well done. I can see they give you much pleasure (and smiles).
Have a great weekend,
Lisca

Absolutely love roses had red ones for my wedding bouquet, and when my husband died had 34 red roses on his coffin for the number of years married. He always gave me roses on our anniversary - the number of roses for the number of years.

Thanks for your lovely comments today Ellie. Life likes to throw challenges at us to make us stronger it seems.....I'm getting stronger by the day :-) I will survive thanks to all my wonderful friends (you included) and those little characters that make me smile.
Hugs,
Annie x

Happy Friday Elizabeth...I'm still chuckling at the 'funnie' - great deduction and reasoning not to give up a warming cup of chocolate. Your roses are beautiful, flowers always make me smile - you must have a lovely garden with so many different shades and I can't believe you're having snow - it's so hot and humid here now. Have a wonderful week cheers Robyn

Your collection of roses look lovely. Such an array of colours. I still have evening primroses out in flower. In my garden. Hugs Mrs A.

How lovely to still have some colour in the garden at this time of year!

I understand (and truly believe!) that a small amount of dark chocolate can help a diet...
These blooms are more precious as they are so late, aren't they?

All those lovely roses. The last one is beautiful. We have a few late ones out too, but ours are not subjected to freezing temperatures. Mum used to have a little verse from a calendar, pinned to her desk, that said "God gave us our memories that we might have roses in December". It seems to me we get roses in December these days, even if our memories are fading!! Have a good week. Kate x

I thought I'd been to see you this week but I must have dropped by and not left a comment so really sorry. The roses are gorgeous and I love the chocy sentiment. Sometimes you have to spoil yourself a little and it's a known fact that a small amount of dark chocolate is good for you therefore the whole bar must be even better Lol! Happy crafty week, Angela x

How wonderful to see the roses still in bloom. I've just done a little tidy round in my garden and blow me if this morning it looks as bad as ever with all the leaves falling again. Where's my brush ?? Haha
