Greetings from a still very cold corner of the country. Still, the weather remains perfect for staying cosy indoors and crafting so I'm not complaining. I'm here again for our weekly visit to the Stamping Ground, and to link up with our Head Desker, Julia to see what's on your desks today. Here's mine.
I'm still putting the goodies I brought home from the SECC craft show recently through there paces. This time it's a Christmas themed embossing folder. I've also brought out my all-time favourite poinsettia die set - an oldie but still a goodie - and core'dinations cardstock - also old and needing to be used up. Some pink and silver cardstock too. There's a card there somewhere.
This photo was taken yesterday. Surprisingly, I've taken up knitting after a gap of 20+ years. Even more surprisingly, I hadn't forgotten how to cast on! I just couldn't resist the cute little characters that replace the usual pom-poms on these hats; I thought they would be perfect for my four little great-grandchildren.
Take care everyone and have a very happy WOYWW.

Oh I'm not surprised, a hat with a character on should be the law, what fun! enough to make any knitter take up the needles. I love that you say there's a card there somewhere on your desk...there certainly is,. It's a bit like writing music...just depends where you stick the dots! Until you mentioned it, I hadn't thought about the core'dinations....it has gone very quiet hasn't it! Funny how the cold has come upon us like a surprise.
I hadn't realised that the picture of the knitting showed hats! What a fabulous idea and how loved they will be by the grandees. Gosh, you could market those - get the needles clicking.
I need some flowers for some of my Christmas cards and like you I turned to an old but much loved poinsettia die that I have. Why buy new when you like the old. Reminds me of what a teacher once wrote in my book when I was leaving primary school at only 8 years old
"Make new friends, But keep the Old, these are silver, those are gold" (or something like that)

Love the cute critters. I haven't knitted in ages either, although I still wear a jumper that is 30 years old which I knitted myself. It must be 17 years since I did any, as I last knitted when on maternity leave with my youngest. Happy WOYWW Sara#21
Hi Elizabeth, I too found some packs of Core- dinations in a drawer. Funny haow it used to be what everyone was using, now it's rarely mentioned. A bit like the Bazill card- seemed everyone was using it at one time. fads and fashions, eh? I have a Poinsettia die I always go back to as well, aren't we a funny lot? Have a great week, Hugs, Shaz #8 xxx

Hello Elizabeth. Those hats are just fantastic. I'm sure your grandchildren will love them! What fun. Hope you enjoyed the show - there are comments about the NEC one being rather expensive and not so good this year - trust yours went well.
Thanks for your visit and comments. Mr jolly jingle is rather fun, isn't he?! I love knitting them - a Jean Greenhowe pattern - and he is now residing in the local charity shop awaiting their Christmas display...
Take care. God bless.

Very cute characters! They look like great fun. Sometimes the oldies are the best, aren't they? I find myself going back to the same thing over and over once in a while.
Happy WOYWW

The hats are lovely, I hadn't realised straight away that they were hats. Well done for taking up the knitting again.
Sorry Elizabeth clicked off to soon. Happy crafty woyww, Angela x 19
Hi Elizabeth
I like the knitting, I'm thinking of making a knitted bow scarf once I finish making my winter tweedy one. Don't hold your breath though, I'm not the fastest knitter on the planet. haha

Those hats will be so sweet! I guess knitting is like riding a bike - you never forget!Looking forward to seeing the cards you will make with your new embossing folders! Thanks for sharing! Lindart #47
Those hats are awesome!! I love that little characters on the top. Your Grandees will love them! How do you cast on? Are you a one needle and thumb girl or do you use the two needle method? (I'm the former)
