WOYWW - Week 147 - What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday?

A very late hello to you all,

I've been happily pottering away in the craft space, completely forgetting what day it was! In fact, it was something the EM said that reminded me. And for anyone not in the know, Wednesday is the day a great many crafters around the world reveal the state of their workdesk, aided and abetted by Head of Desks, Julia, at Stamping Ground - join in by clicking here.

I was in the middle of making a recycled Christmas card for a challenge when I remembered to take a photograph. In the middle there's the stamp and ink pad I've been using. The pile on the right is made up of fronts cut from old commercially bought cards received in previous years ... can't bear to throw them away :)

On the left is the most recent copy of Scrap 365 lying under a scrap page layout from which I plan to use sometime. It came in surprisingly handy for testing out ink colours in the margin :)

And especially for Brenda of Butlers Abroad, here's a shot of the other worktop showing the Cuttlebug is out and I've been doing a bit of embossing too. The scissors are the ones I keep for cutting anything with glue on it and they are there waiting to be cleaned.

For those who would like to see the finished card, it will be in my next post.

Outside of the craft space it's been a terrific week so far. Here in Scotland we are enjoying fabulous weather with record temperatures, and Aberdeenshire, where my son lives, has been a real hot spot. We have, therefore, been taking advantage of it ... there's no telling how long it will last :)

Julia has requested we keep it brief so that's it for me today. It just remains for me to say I hope you are all well ... those of you who are not, I wish you a speedy recovery.  I'm off to do a bit of belated snooping :))

Happy WOYWW,

I love that curvy stamp! Some people are curvy, others are straight. I like the curves better.

Wow! I haven't seen a Big and Juicy ink pad in forever! How cool to spot one in WOYWW. Interesting project with scroll work that you have going on there. Thanks for the shot of the side of your desk where you have your tools. I always like to see everyone's different places. Maybe next week I'll do a side shot of my desk for a different perspective. Hmmm.... might have to clean a bit first.

Glad that you're having some lovely weather Elizabeth and that you're able to enjoy it too. I've just seen your completed, recycled Christmas cards, and they are lovely. Thanks for the extra desk shot! My desk has my bug on it this week too, but I've never seen a blue one before!

I either forgot or didn't know it was supposed to be brief this week - doh! Me and my missing memory!
Your "other" desk looks as immaculate as ever even with the scissors and CB out. Love those Nesties you have on there.
Looks very interesting what you have on your other desk and I know what you mean about not wanting to throw some commercial cards away. I give them to my friend to remake for the local Hospice.
Yes, it's been great with this weather but sadly I read there is (snow - can you believe it?) snow forecast for next week.
Thanks for joining us on our challenge blog - I spied your picture.

Thanks for your visit this week, Elizabeth. Unfortunately, Flash has gone backwards again and is yelping again when he moves, so I think it will be back to the vet again tomorrow for further checks and probably stronger medication. I think it is soft tissue damage so it will take a while to heal. I am struggling to get round everyone this week, so I am off now to see who else I can fit in. Have a good week in sunny Scotland (but we do need some rain, don't we?). xx Maggie #7

Hi Elizabeth,

Yes, I'm still visiting some of my favorite sites! I like the swirly design you have here. I've never seen a blue cuttlebug before. I rather like it!

Have a wonderful rest of the week.

well I'm more belated at snooping than you were... Thanks for checking out my desk. And I probably shouldn't be putting everything away, since tomorrow it will probably all come out again. But I get such pleasure in having a clean/tidy desk to start with...
Have a great day and enjoy the weather while it lasts, we too are having beautiful sunny days here in Calgary, Alberta.

Lovely creative space this week, Elizabeth! Nice to see your tools all laid out so neatly, and I love those swirls you've done!

Thanks for your lovely comment on my blog. I'm still feeling pretty rough unfortunately but hoping it will pass soon. Pacing is an art I keep thinking I've mastered - until the next time I blow it lol!! Glad you like my knitting! It's coming on really well now, as I've spent so much time with my feet up on the recliner this week.

Happy belated WOYWW,

Love the swirls you've created with that stamp. The Big Juicy stamp pad is something I want look into this weekend at the Paperific Show. They look useful for picture stamping.
Now, the chook cupboard seems to be place differently, or perhaps everything nearby has changed.
Had to laugh at the need for a new woodshed at your establishment. Thanks for calling in.

I recycle old cards, too, but I fear it's a bit early for Christmas ones. Of course, I like the one you are in the process of making. And I see the dies are out, too. Thanks for a visit since I'm late visiting you.
