Hello Everyone
This is my first What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday of the year so Happy New Year to WOYWWers everywhere.
I've been doing a bit of sorting out here so there's been precious little crafting going on - a scrap page (posted
here yesterday) and that's about it. Except, I have made a start on this little album which was purchased some time ago ... some time ago meaning years ago! It's much smaller than my usual 12"x 12" size - it's pages measure approximately 8"x 6". Found it during a sort out session and thought it was about time I did something with it so I'm aiming to use it as a kind of nature journal. If there is something that this last dreadful year has taught me it is the benefits and pleasure to be found in nature. Even if, as has been the norm lately, it is only the feeling of well being gained from a wee stroll round my garden on a good day.
On a bad day it comes from a dip into the books on nature and wildlife I've gathered together since April last year. These two, both by Emma Mitchell, a naturalist who writes for a variety of magazines, including Mollie Makes, and has appeared on one of my favourite TV programmes, BBC's Countryfile, are my most recent acquisitions.
Not that I'm forsaking the 12" x 12" format altogether. Not at all! I blew one of the gift cards received for Christmas on this almighty pack of plastic inserts so have given myself the nigh impossible goal of filling them all. Given that each one holds two scrap pages that's a whopping 200 layouts needing to be done. As I said, nigh impossible, but I'm going to give it a go.
So that's what's on my desk or, as in the case of the books, on the floor - Helen (
Stamping by H) might be pleased to see me making use of the floor too - today. I'm off to grab a spot of lunch and spend an hour or so catching up with what's on your desks too.
I'm not ignoring the lockdown completely - how can I - suffice to say I hope you are all keeping well and staying safe. Oh, and keep crafting!

200 LOs huh? Well that’s going to keep you busy for a while! I’m glad to see you on the desks today, it’s good to see what your inspiration is at the moment. Those books look like great reference material.

200 LOs Elizabeth!! LOL I've only ever managed about 3. (though I probably have enough scrapbooking supplies for 200!!). Thank goodness for the garden - that, and my craft room, have kept me sane this year. I think we are all 'making it up as we go' this last year. Looks like quite a challenge my friend. It will certainly be something to aim for and give you a lot of pleasure too I hope.

Hi Elizabeth. My goodness - you are setting yourself some challenge there to fill all those wallets! I wish you well. But do tell me...am I completely dense or are those wallets the weirdest shape? Continue to enjoy the joys and delights of creation! I stood and gazed at the mountains for ages yesterday when out walking - covered in snow with the sun on them. Beautiful. A bit different today, though, as I could barely see across the valley bottom here...

I like the smaller scrapbook and will look forward to seeing how you fill it. We have a heavy snowfall again this morning so more crafting time as I won’t be venturing out!! Take care and keep scrapping. X

200 Elizabeth???? Goodness, that's a job for sure!! LOL 12 x 12 pages seem very daunting to me, so it would be a REAL challenge! LOL I blew my gift cards from Christmas as well, but on journals, much, much smaller and just hope I can fill those up this year!! I would LOVE to take a peek through those books. Your nature books look lovely, Elizabeth. I have missed our walks in the country this past year. I've got a big ring binder a bit like that for my Zentangle pattern samples, all on ATC sized cards. There's no way I shall ever fill it up with the ATC pocket pages! I am sue you will make a brave attempt at your 200 layouts, though!

A nature book sounds awesome, Nature became indeed a big joy for lots of people last year. I am intrigued by that last photom, pages build up from two pieces... looks hard to work with but my mind starts thinking about how I would do that and I'm inspired now! Sorry I’m late. I like the idea of the nature album, and especially with your very giving garden, and plenty of time at home, it’ll be a double pleasure to record such things. Glad that you aren’t forsaking the ‘old ways’, although I hesitate at 200 LOs...but you can do it, if anyone can! Not that you have to of course, even the tax man let’s you carry stuff forward into another year!! It’s a fab amount to buy At once though, a declaration of intent for sure!
Good luck on you quest of filling up those 100 scrapbook sleives, that's going to keep you very busy!
