In A vase On Monday - Sweet Peas

 Hello Everyone,

It's been a while since I last posted anything, let alone something for Cathy's In A Vase On Monday. It's been quite the worst few months for us here at Chez Worthington and, indeed, neither of us has been fit enough to do much more than occasionally sit in the garden and watch the weeds take over. The one thing I did manage to do while he was in hospital, however, was plant out Mr W's sweet peas. I was late which means they are still blooming when usually they would be past by now.

The choice is always for mixed colours but I particularly like that we have mostly dark shades of purple and red this year. There's a few pale lilac and even less of the white, but mostly it's the dark shades - and the smell is divine..

The little posy looks just right in this old blue glass inkwell - a charity shop find from some years ago.

I'm thinking that I will slowly ease myself into blogging again  especially as, while I've been missing in action for so many months, I've returned to find I'm having to work my way round the new Blogger system. As if it wasn't bad enough that we have so many other changes to deal with this year, Blogger decided to give us a few more hoops to jump through. Fingers crossed I've got it right.

Thanks for looking in and do pop over to Cathy's blog, Rambling In The Garden, to see the many lovely arrangements submitted for her meme, In A Vase On Monday.

Take care and bye for now.

Elizabeth

How lovely to have fresh sweet peas blooming now, Elizabeth - I took mine out at the w/e as they had run out of steam, although I had made a later sowing which I planted up but I think it will be too late for them to do much. I love this sort of colour mix, and they look especially pretty in the blue inkwell - is it bigger than a typical inkwell, or is that just an illusion?

Your sweet peas are delicious! And I lovely the blue inkwell. Fabulous colour, especially with the light shining through it. I am glad you have mentioned problems with Blogger. The issues I have with the new look have more or less meant I am unable to continue with my blog. The new template simply doesn't work for me on my Macbook. I can't get beyond the title, there's no link for adding photos, weblinks, formatting or anything. I have sent feedback three times, as they request, but have received no help or acknowledgement at all. There are a couple of other IAVOM bloggers who have had similar issues. Hey ho! I will persevere until the legacy style drops off the planet! Well done you for managing to crack it! Amanda https://therunningwave.blogspot.com/2020/08/travelling-hopefully-in-vase-on-monday.html

The sweet peas are wonderful, Elizabeth, and I think it's great to have some available to offer scent and cheer at this time of year. I hope Mr W is doing better. It has been quite a year...

Hi Elizabeth

A beautiful little inkwell for your gorgeous flowers .. .. love the colour tones very much. I can almost smell the sweet peas from here.

You certainly have been having a rough time of it all, both physically and mentally. This virus has a lot to answer for doesn't it!!

You are clearly made of very strong stuff!

Love and hugs
