What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday - Week 655

Happy Christmas Everyone

From Alan, myself and, of course, Silver. We're all joining in with WOYWW over on Julia's Stamping Ground, the last before Christmas.
Silver is very taken with the decorations and like any typical kitten couldn't resist the tree. So much so, that we've been forced to take it down. We worried that she would do herself an injury, or worse make herself ill eating the fake snow. She's of the age, rather like human babies, when everything has to be tested with her mouth. Hopefully, next year she'll be old enough to resist.

There's not a lot on my desk today. Just the page finished yesterday with the scraps of leftover paper, pens, ink pads and my tiny, but oh so handy, die-cutting machine that were used and now need to be cleared away.
There's also the only magazine I have delivered monthly. With the ever increasing prices of magazines, I've cut back to just this one. Every issue has a word that is the theme of the month. January's word is 'rest'. Well, I'm happy to go along with that. Christmas and New Year is such a hectic time that it's not a bad idea to take some time to rest afterwards.
Many thanks for all the lovely cards we've received. They are just about the only decorations that are kitten-proof! And they look fabulous strung up around the fireplace.

And now, the funnies. I was spoiled for choice this week so I've limited it to four of my favourites.

And finally,
Facebook threw this photo from 2017, in better times when Christmas was a whole lot more freer than it's going to be, given the restrictions, this year. Despite all that, I hope that whatever you're doing this weekend you will enjoy yourself and have lots of tun.

Take care, stay safe and have a very Merry Christmas.

The cards look lovely on the fireplace and are bright and cheerful to look at so it doesn’t matter too much about the tree! It’s just so tempting for a little cat not to climb/chew and you just have to be careful so you dont end up with a huge vet’s bill!
Have a marvellous Christmas Elizabeth, I’m just happy that my boys are home and we are ok (touch wood)
Lots of hugs, LLJ 5 xxx

Aww! Sliver is SO cute! I have a very similar picture of Mittsy inside our tree! Mittsy is now 3 years old and this is the first year she has shown much interest in the tree, so...She mostly does it when I am in my chair reading, and watching her. I really think she might be doing it for the attention! It doesn't really happen at any other time of the day! Lots of love and scritches to precious Silver, and I hope you can still enjoy Christmas without the tree. I wish you a wonderful Christmas, full of love, joy and family, which is, after all, what we need most! Lindart #24

It's a beautiful photo of you. Love it!
oh dear, having to take the tree down because of one little ball of fur - nothing new in that. Cats just love to play don't they, and they can leap too which is alarming. Better safe than sorry.
Great choice of funnies - and the last one so true.
Christmas Hugs - Neet 3 xx

A real shame you’ve had to take the tree down but so lovely to have that photo of Silver to scrap at some point...it’s gorgeous. I love your funnies but that final photo made me smile the most....what a fab photo of you.
I hope you both have a wonderful Christmas and 2022 is kinder to us all.
Hugs,
Annie x

I had a chuckle over that cute little face poking out of the Christmas tree - it all looks very innocent but I think it was wise to take the tree down - the last thing you want is a trip to the vets over Christmas I'm sure!
Hope you have a happy and peaceful Christmas, stay safe and well,
Diana xx #12

What great photos you have shared. Love your cat. Beautiful day here 40's, sunshine and no wind. We did last minute shopping really early this morning so I've gifts to wrap, I found my misplaced cards and want to get a few in the mail. Wanted to WISH YOU and YOURS a VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS DAY. We'll be home but it's ok, I was overjoyed with my Son in Germany and 3 girls visiting via Face Time 2 1/2 hrs Really made me happy. Stat Safe and Enjoy

What a shame you had to remove the tree, but probably for the best! Silver did look quite at home in it! Hope you all have a very happy Christmas and let's hope next year is better than this one!! Love, Helen #2

Silver looks so cute! I’m not surprised you’ve taken it down though. Maybe she’ll be better when she’s older. I hiss at ours if they do something forbidden.
Hope you all have a happy Christmas

Your kitty looks so sweet but I can understand your worry. Loving the funnies especially the Boxing day one though I bet that could easily start Christmas Day and go on until you get fed up of all those boxes around the house. Take care and wishing you a very happy woyww Christmas. Hugs Angela x11x

Oh the blue papers and such an adorable die cutter, love that photo. Naughty cat, but quite appropriately named LOL. Owen died back in June btw, funeral in July so quite a few months before scrapping the day. It has to be done, all part of life's rich tapestry and in the words of my son, "we're all going the same way, Owen just got there sooner" Have a Happy Christmas, hugs BJ#13

Hello Elizabeth. Have giggled at the funnies. Silver is so sweet looking.
Excuse lateness of reply. I felt unwell yesterday and ended up at GP surgery today. Water infection and on antibiotics. Have a lovely Christmas. Anne x 16

The look on your cat's face... fabulous! I remember the cats we had when I was a kid, they were as childish and naughty too. Lovely but a lot of work to have them around. I do miss having a cat sometimes but my beloved doesn't want to keep pets, he thinks animals don't belong in people's houses/prison ;) Oh well, we agree to disagree... I wish you and all your loved ones Merry Christmas and a wonderful, healthy and creative New Year! Love from Holland, Marit #14

Aw, it must feel strange without the tree, I wonder if Silver will ever get over its excitement, I’ve been enjoying cats and trees on Facebook all month, the things some of my friends put up with! It really has been nice to receive post that is actually genuine, I know and understand that a lot of people are cutting card out, but I don’t think I shall just yet, there’s too much pleasure in it for me, especially seeing them ‘strung up’ like yours, so traditional! It’s Christmas morning as I type, so wish you the happiest of weekends and great good health. Xxx

I was going to say there were no restrictions, but then I realised you're in Scotland :( Despite that, I hope you had a good Christmas - I've only just found your comment on my previous post. Loving the cartoons you posted - so funny! I'll go read your new post now! xx zsuzsa #21
