Rudolph Day - October

Hello my lovelies,

Here's my entry for October's Rudolph Day challenge, hosted by our marvellous Mo over at Scraps of Life.
Once again, this card was made from stash that was found during the big clean up. I'd already covered the front of the Kraft card with the patterned paper, details forgotten, and the bauble topper and sentiment from the much used Papermania's Henbury Lane Poinsettia kit - already decoupaged during a TV watching session. All I did before putting the card together was sponge some Tim Holtz Brushed Corduroy distress ink around the edges of the topper, and then splattered it with drops of water to 'bleach' some of the colour out, to soften the white background a little. I found some wine coloured satin ribbon and card candy that made perfect embellishments.
The card took minutes to make, the advantage of having done most of the work previously, so I made a second one.

There's only one more Rudolph Day left now and I don't have nearly enough Christmas cards made yet! Must get a scoot on over the next few weeks so don't be surprised to see a few more Christmas cards appearing in the forthcoming weeks.

Hope you were able to take advantage of the extra hour this morning. Unfortunately, my inner clock woke me up at the same time as usual so there was no lie-in for me.

There's a lovely prize die on offer over at Mo's, so why not make a Christmas card and join in - the challenge is open right up to last day of October.

Happy Crafting,

Hi Elizabeth,

These cards are beautiful! What a great job you've done. I love the text background. I have a collection of old books that I've picked up at the library book store. Most of them are from other countries. Love the patina you gave the card.

Hugs,
Kay

What a lovely card and a great idea to use the ink and bleach. Not thought of doing that on a topper before - thanks for the inspiration.

Thanks for joining in with Rudolph Day this month.

This so very pretty. Love the idea of the bleach on the topper. I enlarged it to view the effect and it is lovely indeed!

Thanks for taking part in the October Rudolph days Challenge.

Am enjoying the non-traditional colors of so many of this Rudy's Day. I love that you recovered a kraft with this pretty paper, and the background on the lovely layered ornaments (which are gorgeous!) enhances the lovely pink on the ornaments. Love the heart with the tiny holly sprig. Amazing that you created this from a kit! TFS & Hugs.
