Red and Green Revisited

Afternoon Everyone,

If you have read the post prior to this you will have seen the card I made this week for Crafty Hazelnut's Christmas Challenge #137. Now, usually, I'm lucky if I get a card made and just about squeeze under the wire to submit before closing time on Friday evening! However, this week I managed to get done early and I said as much to Hazel. Well, didn't she reply with this 'you've got plenty of time for another entry this week' ... that's a challenge ...
... I couldn't resist!!! So here's my second submission for this week ... I know, I can hardly believe it myself :))

This star of this card is the gorgeous poinsettia card which is, in fact, a recycled card received last year, or maybe it was the year before, I can't remember :( Its been matted on to some red patterned mirror card - source forgotten but could have been bought at the craft show at the SECC Glasgow a couple of years ago.

The belly band was made by attaching lengths of green pleated and narrow white satin ribbon to a strip of the mirror card, edges punched with my precious Martha Stewart arches punch. Red dewdrops make the perfect finishing touch.

And this time I'm not forgetting to submit this card to Hazel's Extra Challenge for August for which, as ever, anything goes as long as it is Christmas.

I'm also skipping over to the playground to submit this card to Pixie's Crafty Snippets Challenge - Week 85 - hopefully recycling that fab poinsettia card qualifies me for at least a few minutes of fun on the swing :))

The EM is on his way down south as I type ... he's of to visit his big sister and her family for the weekend. Which means that The Boss and I have the place to ourselves and we're doing our best to survive in his absence :)) Seriously, it will be fun for a while but I will be so glad to have him home safe and sound on Sunday.

Hope you are all having a great Friday and that you have a weekend of fun and frolics to look forward to.

Take care everyone and happy crafting,

As soon as I saw your link I had to smile, Elizabeth - well done for rising to the challenge of making a second card this week for CHNC 137 and another for CHNC extra for August - and what a wonderful card it is. I wonder if you'll enter as much for the next weekly challenge - it's an easy one, I promise! x
