WOYWW - Week 139 - What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday?

Morning All

Just when I thought I was up bright and early enough to be somewhere at the top of Julia's register of workdesks today, well, in the early numbers anyway, she nips in on Tuesday and scuppers me plan ... almost seventy of you have beaten me to it :) So what am I blethering on about ... it's Julia's What's on Your Workdesk Wednesday - WOYWW - over on Stamping Ground ... the day a surprising number of blogging crafters bare our desks for the world to see ... to check it out click here.

What you see on my workdesk this morning is the makings of a flower using hearts ... patterned paper and card, several punches and punched shapes, self-adhesive pearls and that rather lethal looking syringe containing, you'll be relieved to know, nothing more hazardous than glue gel :)  Following a lot of interest shown this week after I embellished a card with the flower below, I'm putting together a photo tutorial showing how it was made.

Assuming no interruptions, I should be able to post it later today.

Not a lot to say today ... it's been a busy old week and this coming week is looking to be much the same. I can hardly believe we are into a new month today ... February ... another month nearer spring and I can't wait. It's perishing here on the west coast of Scotland, has been for days ... I've been piling on layers of clothes and turning up the thermostat in an effort to keep warm, and staying indoors!!!

I hope that you are all keeping warm too, well, those of you who, like me, live in northern climes. Times like these, I wish I were somewhere, anywhere, warmer :))

Wherever you are and whatever you're doing, I hope you have a wonderful WOYWW day and a good week ahead. As soon as I've drunk the cuppa here on my desk, I'm out of my PJs, showering (hot), and wrapping up warm again I'll be commencing hopping, hoping to visit as many of you as I can ... more than last week, even, although Julia's link list is getting ever longer as more of you join in the fun each week :)

In the meantime, Happy Crafting,

Hi Elizabeth
Love your little heart flowers and your desk looks so neat and tidy. Sounds so cold up there so I think you'd better make one of the ice sculptures I've shown on my blog! I'm going to do one just as soon as it's cold enough!!!!! Watch out it's threatened.
Please email me your address again as your blog candy is all packed up ready. I can't find it in my files but anyhow I want to make sure it's correct so this next parcel gets to you safely.
Love JoZarty x

I love heart flowers Elizabeth, I did a tutorial last year on them and I still make them quite often, as they always look so different everytime they are put together :)

Have a fab WOYWW and a great week, Karen #108

Sorry to jigger the timing about - had to be on site at 7am and just knew it would be the week I stuff up the scheduling or something!! I think a tutorial is very generous and the flower looks so pretty...I have to go rummage for a heart punch now, I can't believe I won't have one. Somewhere. As for the cold..it's cold here, but not as cold as for you..but no doubt, sitting still at this computer makes it worse!!

Of course I need and love to hear from you! That's what makes WOYWW what is...sharing 'our stuff' through the ether! Thanks so much for the kind wishes - I will keep just the WOWWers posted with a bit of ante-natal blurb. Lurve your flower...you are a mind reader with that blossom methinks (see MMM later tonight!) Tis chilly indeed here, so thinking of you way up there... Brrrrrr! Sarah (at a respectful 14 - but only because I'm sad enough to be blog surfing at night too!)

Beautiful flowers and I look forward to the tutorial. I made flowers this week too, tissue ones, easy but fiddly but with lovely results. If I had nowhere to go I'd keep my pj's on! I have the warmest dressing gown in the history of the world!

Hi Elizabeth - I've looked at your tutorial just now and it's great - I'd tried the overlapping idea before but never thought about setting two heart petals opposite first of all to make the positioning of the other four easier :( Brilliant - watch this space :) Di xx

Great flower! I never thought to make a flower with a heart punch, but seeing yours makes me wonder why not. I love, love, love that pad of paper you have on your desk. I'm quite the paper addict and that is one I would snatch up in a moment if I saw it for sale somewhere.

Sorry I'm late getting here. Thanks so much for stopping by earlier this week. I love the idea of making my own embellishments. This flower is truly a winner!

we-ell - you could always move, but that would be a silly suggestion, wouldn't it?

Love the flower you've done.

Thanks for stopping by!
