CHNC Card - Three Wise Men

Afternoon Everyone,

I'm doing well today ... got here in the afternoon instead of evening :) And it's not a bad afternoon at that ... bright-ish, dry-ish and definitely warm for the time of year.

And even better, I'm here with a card for this week's CHNC - challenge 145 ... and that's very early for me! Unfortunately, I couldn't make it last week and I hate to miss this challenge, although with my reputation for tardiness Hazel was probably expecting a last minute submission as usual :)) Enough digressing, here's the card for this week.
The background was made on a Gelli Plate and the topper is another recycled one ... I'm getting someones money's worth out of these old cards :) The inspiration is this photograph of Bethlehem Nativity, a water colour by Loyd Fannin - lovely, isn't it?

The base of the card is a 12" x 6" strip of Core'dinations Core Color card, colour Evening Sky, folded in half to make a 6" square.

The gelli print was made using the 6" square Gelli plate, blue and turquoise acrylic paints, a Special Touch Circles mask and bubble wrap. This print had, during the process, a mask cut from card laid over the central area ... this has the effect of creating a printed frame. It's been trimmed to fit the front of the card, the edges embossed with silver powder, and two corners have had the Frantage treatment using the turquoise/teal set.

The topper was trimmed to size to fit the centre of the print, also edged with silver embossing powder and matted on to another piece of the Core'dinations card.

Edited Note: I almost forgot to mention Hazel's CHNC Extra Challenge for October - brain's in a frazzle - where anything goes as long as it's Christmas.
and at Hazel's urging I'm also submitting this to The Crafting Muskateers Challenge #6 - Christmas in October

Well, that's enough slacking for one afternoon. I'm off to do a bit more sorting of crafty stuff and I might even fill another box. To make this process more pleasurable - if packing can ever be pleasurable !?!? - I've checked out a few audio books from the library ... current read is a police procedural whodunit, A wreath For My Sister by Priscilla Masters. I'm just getting into the story but so far there's one woman that's been missing for a couple of years and one that has just gone missing ... her body is frozen under a blanket of snow up on the Derbyshire moors, and that's just CD1!

I hope you are all having a great day wherever you are.

Take care and happy crafting.

Hi Elizabeth,

Another lovely Christmas card! I saved my cards from last year, thinking I'd do the same - except with a twist. I'm thinking of reusing and then sending back to the person that sent the original card to me. Let's see how many people notice!

Hugs,
kay
