Friday Smile 127 - on Saturday

Good Morning Everyone

Friday went by in a bit of a blur so, I'm afraid, it has to be Saturday for my Friday Smile, Annie.

I've no cute photos of my adorable grandchildren/great-grandchildren this week. Instead, as it is my garden that is giving me such pleasure at the moment, I have a few photos of that to share.

Looking down towards the scree bed which has now been somewhat taken over and become the Lavender bed. The pink flower is a lovely cistus that just keeps blooming. The plant in the foreground is an astilbe which will be a blaze of red very soon.
This is a patch sown with annuals which has finally come into it's own, with marigolds, poppies, borage, blue flax, corncockle, dill and fennel, to name but a few ... I just threw in several packets of seeds and waited to see what came up :)

And finally, for now, a pink rose planted by the EM shortly after we moved in - 20 months ago.
It is now known as Alan's Pink Rose, because it was planted before he knew the value of holding on to the labels and we can't remember it's real name :) Nevertheless, it is simply stunning and the perfume is divine.

And now, here's my funny for this week:

The Burglar entered the darkened house, quietly.

Suddenly a voice shouted ' God is watching you'

He stayed silent for a moment and heard nothing, so moved and the voice shouted again, 'GOD IS WATCHING YOU'

Then... he saw the parrot. 'Was that you?' the burglar asked.

'Yes' replied the parrot, 'My name is St.Peter.'

'What fool would call a parrot St.Peter' the burglar said.

The parrot replied... 'The same fool who named our Doberman, God!'

Ta-da!

I wish you all a wonderful weekend and that the week ahead brings you much to smile about.

Hello

Evening Folks,

Today, I finally got round to scrapping one of the photos that could be seen lying on my desk for the last two weeks. That still makes it a bit of a record for me ... I usually take an awful lot longer to get a photo scrapped :) I CASEd a layout I admired on Lynsey's blog, here on Lynsey's Place - it was just too good not to.

Most of the patterned papers used are leftover scraps but the base paper is from Glitz's Color Me Happy - Color Me Happy Polka (the polka pattern is on the reverse). The journaling card is recycled packaging (Hero Arts).

The title, alphas and stickers are from So Fancy Simple Stories Fundamentals and Expressions Cardstock Stickers. The enamel dots are from various sources.

I'm submitting this layout to Pixie's Snippets Playground because of the number of scraps and snippets I managed to use up making it.

I have another layout started but it's time to call it a day so I'll bid you goodnight - tomorrow is another day.

What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday - Week 318

Happy Wednesday Fellow Deskers,

Whoops! And another week has zipped by. Time to report to our Head Desker, Julia, for another What's On Your Work Wednesday.

Some progress on last week, but admittedly not much. Since last week the flock of birds, twenty-one in all, have been cut out of fabric and pressed on to the base fabric which has a pretty dragonfly pattern on it; the photos are still there from last week but I have pulled out a few papers with a view to scrapping them; the crochet cover is growing too - all blues and greens for a boy.

So that's my desk today. All I need is to find some time to do something crafty. Anything crafty would be nice! But when the sun comes out, and being mindful of the need for the Sunlight Vitamin (vitamin D) at my advanced age, I'm spending as much time as possible catching a few rays before it turns to liquid sunshine ... we've had a lot of that recently :(

However, right now I'm off to join the EM for a spot of lunch, then I'll be back.

Have a great day everyone,
