What’s On Your Workdesk Wednesday - Week 610

 Hello Everyone,

It usually takes me an age to put together these posts for What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday these days - and that explains why I'm often the last to the party. So today, I'm going to try to get it done quicker - let's see how I do!

Here's the desk this morning. Don't judge - I've been busy, it just doesn't show sometimes. Ignore the title on the notebook - it refers to Shimelle's September class from a few years ago which, when done, left the notebook only partly used. I hate to leave a notebook half empty so I'm filling this one with nature notes, quotes and anything else that takes my fancy. The layout of photos, project life style, will be inserted into the nature journal started at the beginning of the year - shown in this earlier WOYWW post.  The stencil is there because it's quite old and yet has never been used. I can't think why given the amount of rain we have here on the west coast of Scotland - I should take more photos on rainy days. The stamp set is proving to be very useful, both for the nature journal and because I've joined in with a monthly tag challenge run by Scrap Dollies. That's the local scrap group that usually holds regular crops in a nearby village hall - unhappily the pandemic has, albeit temporarily, put a stop to that. January's tag can just be seen propped up in front of a box of project life cards.

Here's the tag in close-up.
More rain. The robin took advantage of some gravel clearing going on in the garden to feast on worms and little beasties. Our grandson is keeping himself busy working on a much-needed project to clear old gravel and some very dreadful week suppressant - the type that is nonporous that is it not only suppresses weeds but also prevents rainwater from draining away. I did mention it rains a lot here! I love that wellie stamp.

I'm sure you already know that our dear friend Shaz is back in hospital again and not at all well. Her beloved husband Doug has been allowed to sit with her and has been keeping us informed of how she is doing - see his updates here. Needless to say, the EM and I are thinking to them both and sending Shaz lots of healing thoughts.

And finally, I thought you would all like to see my vase of daffs. The EM found them in the supermarket yesterday, still in bud.
One night on the windowsill and they have all opened up and the sun is shining too ... makes me think that Spring is just a few weeks away despite it being freezing outside.

Have a good week. Stay safe and keep well.

PS: Well, I did write up this post more quickly than usual but it hasn't helped me link any sooner. Must try harder.

I love how daffy open so quickly - they were my mum’s favourite flower to have in a little vase where she could see them! The January/welly tag is great fun, I’d like a pair of spotty wellies but they never seem to have legs wide enough for my sturdy calves!! I think we’re all thinking about Shaz and Doug today, she’s so poorly, we need a miracle.

Such sad news from Doug about Shaz. If only everyone's love and thoughts were enough she would be fighting fit she has so many people who love her. Such a great tag Elizabeth - I especially like the spotty wellies. Stay safe. Sarah #5

Oh of course THAT one posted! Lovely to see daffodils out - they are a wonderful sign of hope aren't they? Loving the wellies too. I'm missing my crops as well - zooms are great but nothing beats tea, cake and scrapping in real life does it? Sending hugs to everyone this week, Lisa-Jane #10

Think it’s been a difficult day for us all Ellie. Shaz touched the hearts of so many. The latest news isn’t good...just a matter of time now. I’m so glad they have allowed Doug to be with her.
I love your tag and your daffs are beautiful...I long to see them opening up in the garden.
Hugs,

The tag with the wellies is great and I love the daffodils - my favourite flower. My mum used to grow them for sale when I was little and the field in front of our house was a sea of daffodils from late Feb until mid May. So sad about Shaz - we are all holding her and Doug in our prayers. Happy WOYWW. Take care and stay safe. With love & God Bless, Caro xxx (#20)

I love the tag and agree with Jo, the spotty wellies are fab! It is awful news about Shaz, I feel so sorry for them both, they are such a lovely couple. Your daffodils are just beautiful - I must get some to brighten up the place. Take care and stay safe. Helen #2

Oh I love the tag with the wellies and the precious robin. Just the cutest! I also love your picture with the daffodils. They are beautiful, but I also love, love your windowsill! It's beautiful!! The cutest stencil too and you tickled me with your play on your home country! Scotland is on my bucket list! Probably won't ever make it...but it's there never the less! Stay safe, warm and healthy! Blessings to you, Felicia #30

A lovely tag - such a sweet little photo of the robin and I love the rain drops with the wellies. Pretty daffodils, a great reminder that spring is just around the corner.
Have a good week, stay safe and well,

Well, E, you could always use the umbrella stencil as a a parasol stencil to illustrate the incredible sunshine you get up there in Ayrshire! Your could stamp the wellies on plain stock and stencil the umbrellas over them. Pretty sure once you start using it, you’ll be filled up with uses for it! The daffodils are a wonderful sight, I love that they never fail do they, they flower whatever happens and in the sunshine they can’t fail to lift you, good sight. Bet the garden work has had to slow a little in the face of the biting easterly weather. Won’t we all be gals to see this winter out.

Hi Elizabeth. Oh, I know - writing my post takes me ages every week, too. I confess I usually do it on a Tuesday now (the desk is unlikely to change by the Wednesday morning), and put it straight up, then set an alarm on Wednesday, link up, then go back to bed... I know, I know - cheating, huh? I love your January tag - I delight in robins - although I don't seem to have one in the garden this winter... wonder what happened to him? Those daffodils are gorgeous - and yes, being by the sea, I do indeed have some in the garden.
Yes, the West side of Scotland does get a lot of rain - but that's what makes it so beautiful, glorious, and every other adjective!!! My eldest grandie is up near Glencoe at the moment starting at an outward bound place. The photos she is sending us all are stunning!
Take care. God bless.

Hi Elizabeth, I'm late this week getting round everyone as mum is in a nursing home and we had to take her some stuff yesterday as well as going for our vaccine. Very pretty tag and loving the daffies too. You're right they do remind me of spring and recently I've been buying more flowers in the supermarket, they just brighten the place up. Wishing you a very happy belated woyww, Angela x18x

Ahh, daffodils! How lovely. My first "sight" of any. Ours are coming up in the troughs in the garden and have buds on them. I adore the spring flowers, particularly the early ones which always give me a lift and the promise that winter is nearly over. I love your tag with the wellies!

So desperate about poor Shaz. She and Doug are constantly in my thoughts and prayers at the moment.

Happy belated WOYWW,
