Friday Smiles - Week 113

Afternoon Folks,

Hope your Easter weekend has started with a smile ... if so, why not share it with Annie at A Stitch In Time, too. With the kind of weather that's forecast for this weekend we need as much cheering up as possible.

I've mostly been out in the potting shed this week, or out in the garden when the weather permitted, and seeing the new buds and shoots has certainly put a smile on my face. We've created a new alpine bed - well, a mound really - to cover a difficult area caused by the roots of the old sycamore tree that grows on the boundary between ours and our neighbour's garden. Those roots made it impossible to plant anything and expect it to grow so Annie, the gardener we bring in for the really big jobs, suggested we do something like this.
Hopefully the plants will do better here.

Spotted this wonderful illustration on FaceBook and couldn't help smiling ... that's the way to grow old :)

And now, the joke of the day

A husband read an article to his wife about how many words women use a day ... 30,000 to a man's 15,000

The wife replied, 'The reason has to be because we have to repeat everything to men....

The husband then turned to his wife and said, 'What?'

Wishing you all a wonderful Easter Weekend!

Hi Elizabeth, funny your cartoon - for me as I was just contemplating recycling some old sheets into a table cubby for our gd Sophie...I'm sure I'll be joining her under the table. Too true about men and words...first had experience here. Have a great weekend Robyn

Enjoyed your garden tip. I did something similar to a house in another town. It really works.

Enjoyed the joke. I really laughed at it, too.

Happy Friday Smiles, happy Easter.

Brilliant illustration and joke Elizabeth... they both made me giggle.
I hope you're sitting down when I tell you that Aboyne (near Aberdeen) was the hottest place in the WHOLE of the UK yesterday!
I've been in the garden for the last two days which has been wonderful.
Everything is waking up at last.
Enjoy!
