Another Snowy Scene

Hello Everyone

And I hope it's a happy Monday for you all. A big welcome to my newest followers - Karen, Nessa and Jan - it's lovely to have you join me :)

I have another card inspired by the same photograph featured in yesterday's post to share with you today.
It's yet another recycled topper ... just a different treatment. The corners of the base card have been embossed with a lovely holly flourish from the Cuttlebug All-In-On Twinkle set. The topper was trimmed and matted on to some toning red card found in the snippet box,

The stamp for the greeting is from Christmas Stamps by Sharon Benett. It was originally one long stamp but, as you can see, I've cut the stamp to separate the two words and this made for a better placement on the card. Baker's twine and red gems were used for decoration.

Materials used:

  • square white card base, corners embossed using Cuttlebug's Twinkle All-In-One folder
  • snippet of red card for matting the topper
  • Memories black ink pad and Christmas Stamps by Sharon Benett set free from Crafts Beautiful 2012 for greeting
  • red/white baker's twine and Anita's red gems to decorate

Another snippet, another trip to Pixie's Snippet Playground - any excuse to play will do :) You can play along too - all you have to do is use up some of those snippets, leftovers or scraps of stash you have accumulated over time :)

Okay, that's my five minutes reprieve from packing over. Better get back to it ... I'm still packing up the craft room, and still deciding what to keep out because I just can't live without it until the last minute!!!

The EM took down pictures, prints and photos and packed them all away, only to find, after he'd sealed up the boxes, that he's totally missed the ones in the landing! And, oh, do the walls look bare without them :( Slowly but surely the house is beginning to look less like ours and more like someone else's.

Thanks for looking in. Take care and happy crafting,

Hi Elizabeth. I do love those cards you are creating. You'll be well ahead for Christmas. Don't overdo the packing either. Hugs Rita xxx

So wonderful - I love that wintery scene! We are still sweating here in New Jersey - its much too warm for the season - kind of freaky... Have a great day, hugs, Cornelia

Lovely card ELizabeth-the embossing and Bakers twine really finish it off nicely picking up on the red :)
Thank you for the lovely welcome xx
I am glad the packing is going well-it is such hard work moving house isn't it? I think what you said about your house looking less like yours and more like someone elses is a good thing,it makes it easier to leave,at least it did for me when we packed up our home of 24 years-I needed it to not look like my house anymore-and when everything that made it a home was boxed up it really did help us to move on-and I am so glad we did,I LOVE this house so much,I hope your move is a happy one too :)
Hugs,Nessa xxx

Another lovely card Elizabeth. You have a great knack of recycling toppers.

Much as I love my home I think it would be lovely to have a blank canvas to work with.
