WOYWW Week 847 - Not a Lot to Show

Hello WOYWWers, Followers, Everyone

It's true. There isn't a lot for me to show on my desk this week, or, for that matter, any other week recently. I'm finding it tough getting back to the fun things when there's still so much other stuff needing my attention. both here in the flat and outside in the shed. Those boxes seem to be bottomless!

Anyway, enough of my moaning. What's on my desk is the beginnings of a new layout. The photos are of my mother and her older sister, taken sometime in the 1930s. The papers and alphas are leftovers from a kit I used earlier this year to make another page.  When will the layout get done is anyone's guess but it's there waiting for me and my mojo to return.
Silver enjoying a blissful moment of sunshine. We've had a lot of rain in the last few day. I believe the slab she's sunning herself on covers a well of sorts but for her it's just the perfect sunspot. She brought me a present the other morning. A live vole! I know she was only showing me how bringing home food should really be done - there's no need for those trips to the butcher's after all - but I'd rather she didn't. I was able to catch the poor wee thing, take it out to the garden, and set it free. Hopefully, it survived the trauma.

Finally, the funnies - these make me think of how Silver must have felt when I rejected her wee pressie this week.
A really bad-tempered cat cake!

That's enough from me today. To see more creative workdesks pop over to Sarah's blog, Sarah's Craft Shed. If you don't already do so, feel free to join in the fun and show us what's on your workdesk this Wednesday. You'll be made most welcome.
Have a great WOYWW day and a fabulous week everyone,

Take care everyone,
Elizabeth

Further Finds From in the Shed

Hello Everyone,

Just a quick post this evening.

Following on from yesterday's post I have uncovered more treasures from the boxes in the shed. This time it's a selection of page kits I put together what must be at least four years ago now. There's seventeen altogether, four of which are Christmas/winter themed. I remember now that I added a cutfile title to each one with the aim of using them up. Big fail so far!

There's photos in each one too; all bringing back happy memories. Always a bonus.

Less welcome was this wee, actually not so wee, insect. My bug app tells me it's a fly but I'm not so sure. It's huge and it's made itself at home despite all my efforts to show it the way out. Help!

So that's one more box emptied. Just six more to go.

Take care and goodnight.
Elizabeth

WOYWW Week 845 - A Busy Week

Hello WOYWWers, Followers, Everyone

I hope this finds you all well and that you've found the time to be more creative than I have these last few weeks. That's not to say I haven't been busy. I really have. There's just no scrap pages to show for all the busy-ness! Instead, I've forced myself to tackle the black hole that is the shed at the top of the garden. There's boxes in that shed, the contents of which haven't seen the light of day since October 2022. Contents like the file of stencils and box of shimmer mists that can be seen on my desk this morning. I can't tell you how delighted I was to find them again!

I've been tackling the emptying of one box at a time with the aim to clear the shed completely by the end of August. It's been quite the eye-opener too. The shed is leaky, not to mention crawling with spiders, and far from the ideal place to store anything, let alone my lovely crafty stash! The plan is to replace it with a new, clean and dry, shed once everything has been sorted and cleared.
Rain, rain, go away.
Come again another day.

Storm Floris and the generally bad weather that followed has meant there's been very little gardening done. Everything got a thorough drenching and was looking bedraggled following the high winds.
But, now the sun is out again and the garden is getting over the damage, flowers like these sweet peas and cornflowers have perked up again.

Here's a photo taken from Saltcoats this week.
I'm not sure what the RNLI were doing up our way but it's always concerning to see the lifeboat out. There's been no news report, so I think this time all was well.

What with storms, fires and the frequent appearance of the rescue services, there's rarely a dull moment here in The Three Towns.
But on a quiet summer's day there's nothing lovelier than the South Beach, Ardrossan.

Silver hated the stormy weather.
She's over it now and off out chasing butterflies.

And finally,
This mirrors exactly how we both felt during the horrible weather.

Silver has perfected the above!

That's enough from me today, I'm sure.

Take care everyone,
Elizabeth
