Morning WOYWWers, Followers and Bloggers All,

Wednesday again! And a lovely day it is here too - the sun is shining, we have a blue sky - and here's what's on my desk this morning.

I've been organising my humongous ribbon collection ... and baker's twine, and cord, and fibres! As you can see I've simply wrapped the ribbon, or whatever, round sheets of white card - colours sorted alphabetically - and slipped them into plastic inserts. They are then filed into some inexpensive but pretty ring binders found at one of the nation's largest supermarkets. Three ring binders, to be precise! It's shameful to have so much ribbon, etc., - hoarding at it's worst!!! During the process a drawer, several boxes, and not a few of those hanging up thingies, have been emptied/cleared/removed - the craft space is looking a lot less untidy than it did.

I've still to sort out a wee box of fibres ... later ... then it's back to cataloguing the stamps. A job I wish I'd thought of from the outset, but then it's easy to be wise after the event, and I certainly didn't think that I'd ever invest in more than a handful of stamps. Beginners, be warned! Mine, may be a modest hoard collection but it's proving difficult to keep track of what is where.

To the left of the binders is a wee pile of photos and a sketch - the next scrap page project. At the back, on top of the usual mess crafting necessities, there's the latest issue of Craft Stamper - you can see the brilliant free stamp lying beside that much needed cuppa. I can see those little people being very usefully employed on scrap pages :)

That's it for today - short and sweet, just like Julia likes it. Julia who? Julia Dunnit, of course, the brilliant instigator of this weekly desk fest. Hop on over to the Stamping Ground and join in, if you don't already. Once I've linked up, I'll be popping into to check out as many desks as I can ... I may be some time :)

Take care everyone and have a very happy WOYWW.

It looks like ribbon organisation is a popular craft activity at the moment, alas, ours remain in an undignified twisted mess! We just received our CS mag and live the free stamp too.

There seems to be a lot of sorting and tidying going on in craft world at the moment = do you think it's a spring (cleaning) thing? Good luck with your tidy-up task. Happy WOYWW MM x #197

spring must be in the air as so many of us are sorting and indexing our stash. Your right about the stamps beginners be ware and start indexing straight away. I am about half way through doing mine and it really is a job.
I like your way of sorting your ribbons I know some people are using dolly pegs but your folders seem like a great idea.
Happy WOYWW hope you have a great day

There is certainly alot of spring organising going on here! and everywhere else in blogland I see. I am still waiting for someone to come and organise me!!
Nice projects in this month's CS isn't there. I had an hour yesterday evening with mine, in front of the fire with a huge coffee! Perfick way to while away an hour!

I've taken the other link down Elizabeth, just so you get comments that make sense!! Love the binders idea for the ribbons. You are more meticulous than me though..I just know that I wouldn't put away properly....I'd blame the creative flow but we all know it's really just because I'm pathologically untidy! Bet the 'wee' box of fibres will have a frightening yield too!

What a super idea! I've got mine all tangled in baskets! But I like your idea may have to try that! No desk from me, because it's empty or I can't share yet what I'm working on! Take care Zo xx

I'm seeing a lot of tidying up and organization on my rounds this week! I like the pretty little binders though, nice and spring like. We had more snow overnight and now it's trying to rain so it's all wet, melting, slushy and foggy at the moment!!

Love how you are organising all your ribbons and I was excited about that CS free stamp too. Can think of lots of uses for that one.
It's wonderful to see the sunshine again isn't it?

That is a great idea for ribbon storage, one of the things I love most about WOYWW is the fabulous ideas!
I used to live in Scotland too before we moved over the pond and I think that was why I loved getting the clothes on the line on a sunny day, a great sense of achievement getting them dry out there!
It took me a long time to get used to tumbling everything, I was very resentful at first and took to putting most things on an airer in front of a window!!!!! then I got tired of having to iron absolutely everything!
thanks for dropping by!

Everyone is busy sorting out ribbons and cataloguing stamps. It must be the desire for Spring to come that is inspiring us all. When I started cross stitching and went to the craft shows to buy new stuff for that, i always said I would never get into stamping - yeh, like that theory lasted. Now I have to have them organised to keep moderately sane. Have fun with your Spring clean. xx Maggie #15

I'm with you on the suggestion to organize from the beginning of the obsession - I mean hobby. The more you resist buying stamps - the more it seems you want to buy. :-)
