Friday Smile - The Boss + Tough Love - Simon's Cat (A Valentine's Special!)

It's Smiley Friday over at Annie's A Stitch In Time again.

In a week full of reasons to smile, for example, one perfectly lovely sunny day, a good book to read, a difficult sewing project finished, it is difficult to choose what to share but I think this photo of The Boss snoozing on the windowsill is a favourite of the week.
That windowsill is the perfect site for a snooze because she can catch the sun on her back and the heat rising from the radiator just beneath ... the best of all possible worlds for a sick old cat. And the book, not mine but the EM's - we both read crime novels but I don't share his taste for violent and gruesome London gangster based crime!!!

A bit early, but I thought you might enjoy the Valentine Special featuring Simon's Cat.

He/she does make me laugh :)

Hope you have a wonderful weekend with lots to make you smile.

Hi Elizabeth, you kittie looks comfy and very happy. I have never seen Simon's cat before, they are brilliant and will definitely be watching more of these. Have a great Friday with lots more smiles, Angela x

Aren't cats the silliest of things. We had one just like your boss cat over 30 years ago, in fact I came across a lovely picture of him the other day
Have a great weekend Elizabeth

Hi Elizabeth, I really enjoyed reading you post. First I really laughed at the cartoon. It's very funny indeed and I'm going to send a link to my best friend. She doesn't have a blog but is a real cat person and will love this.

There is a cat in the village who sleeps on a cushion in the window. He's there often and a suncatcher is in the window saying "A very spoilt cat lives here".

I also like crime fiction. At the moment I', reading Carola Dunn's Daisy Dalrymple books. Up to No. 20. but I also like Patricia Cornwell who is more graphic. Barbxx

Hi Elizabeth. Firstly I must say I love the pic of the Boss in his warm cosy spot enjoying his old age....think we should all find a spot like that :-) I always have a chuckle at Simons cat and I must admit to having to watch this one twice already....there may be more yet lol.
Hugs,
Annie x

What a lovely photo of Boss sitting in the window sill. So contented. I wish I had a large window sill to curl up on....
I laughed at Simon's Cat. The person that made the cartoon definitely has a cat him/herself. I had never seen those cartoons but I will watch some more.
Yes, I like crime fiction too. And thrillers. I really enjoyed the The girl with the... Trilogy By Stieg Larsen. Have you ever read any of the Inspector Montalbano books? Written by Andrea Camilleri and set in Sicely.(I used to live in Italy and I love them) In Italy they even have a TV series of Montalbano. The inspector is very popular.
Sorry I got carried away. I love reading. I'm on Goodreads if you want to see what I am reading...
Thanks for visiting,
I hope you will get many more things to smile about,
Have a good week,
Lisca

Hello Elizabeth, thanks for the video, I adore Simon's cat and this one is so funny.
Bonnie looks so comfy in her spot, the heat will help her.
I love crime novels too, but only British writers, I'm on an Ian Rankin Rebus just now, with his latest awating me that my BIL gave me for Xmas, have a lovely evening, Kate x

Hi Elizabeth. Boss looks very comfortable and it does sound like the perfect place for a nap. My girls will follow the sun around the living room.
The cartoon is so funny and I'm not a cat owner. How funny.

Such wonderful animation from simple line forms. I LOVE the butterfly bits especially. I'm going to make sure my friend(an owner of 5 cats) see Simon's Cat she love it so much. Thank you.

A very belated Happy Friday/Monday Elizabeth...cats and their antics can always brighten our day, Simon's cats are fabulous but your Boss wins the day - not a care in the world, comfy and having a snooze. Have a wonderful week Robyn

Simon's cat is always fun, but I love the photo of Boss too. Cats have a way of finding the warmest spot don't they. Sorry I am so late visiting this week. I'll probably be back again tomorrow! Kate x
