What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday - Week 534

Morning Everyone,

It's another WOYWW and I have to say it feels that the week has more than whizzed by. I blame the bank holiday - even though officially in Scotland it wasn't a holiday, the EM and I decided we were not going to miss out. And shamelessly I admit, I'm using the holiday as an excuse for there being nothing to show on my desk today.
So, I thought I'd show what goes on at the end of the desk instead. Besides the usual boxes of scrapbooking supplies teetering on the edge there's the trolley. What would I do without the trolley - it holds all the clutter that would have, in the past, found it's way on to the desk. As can be seen, the top tray holds all sorts of junk crafty items - mostly a variety of adhesives ... can't craft without them ... pots of scissors and paintbrushes, etc. - what I deem necessary tools of the trade.  Behind all that there's storage for yet more scrapbooking supplies and a couple of containers of stamps. The stamp situation is becoming outrageous - I feel a sort out and donate session coming on!
Here's another shot, on the other side of the craft room. Even more scrapbooking supplies - pretty patterned paper sorted, more or less, by colour, photo albums, the guillotine corner, and the ink pad collection in it's custom built (courtesy of the EM) storage. The little fabric basket at the front is full of our Rita's beautiful flowers. Looking quite organised but then, of course, tidying and organising is my favourite procraftination!

No book bit this week. I'm struggling to finish Kazuo Ishiguro's 'When We Were Orphans' at the moment. I don't know why because I really enjoyed his 'The Remains of the Day'. I'll persist.

Instead, I have an ... And ...
Finally ...
Totally appropriate given what my photos have revealed today :)

That's it for this WOYWW. Until next week, I wish you all a wonderfully crafty week.

Hi Elizabeth, it's funny how much space the consumables take up! Like the inkpad storage, Doug made mine too. Like the funny! Have a lovely week, Hugs, Shaz #5 X

Hi Elizabeth, I've just spent the weekend with lots of Scottish friends who enjoyed our Bank holiday and seen temperatures unbeknown to them taking home a tan like never before. Your desk looks very organised to me, looks like everything essential is close to hand. I hear you regarding the stamps, I have a greedy amount of them but I see them as art so need them.. but also could do with an extension to house them :/
Thanks for sharing WoywW your welcome to come help me tidy any day!!

Well my dear Elizabeth, sorry to see your desk so tidy, but I know you were off on a day out and thoroughly enjoyed it too. The heat was not really good for crafting anyway. I'm trying to catch up before going up to Kate's on Tuesday. Isn't it amazing how quickly the weeks are moving along. I'll catch up with you when I return. Enjoy another Great Week. Hugs Rita xxx

Wow it was hot here over the weekend, I'm afraid to say we lazed around a lot and went nowhere....and it was marvellous! I know the RNLI shop was incredibly busy and made lots of money, hooray! I do like your trolley, that hides a multitude of sins, eh? I can't wait to get back in the JanCave...it's been three weeks now and I'm getting withdrawal symptoms....;-)

Hi Elizabeth. I loved the wider view of your craft room - now I can imagine you sitting there crafting away. And I LOVED your "and finally". I reckon mine is just that as well.
Take care. God bless.

Great space you have there Elizabeth. I love those trolleys. I have an old one but it's not as good as this so might have to think about a new one. I could say that last bit is funny but as it's also very true, well that's my excuse! Pleased you're enjoying my Steampunk pics too. Wishing you a lovely week and a very happy woyww, Angela x8x

You've got a lovely organised space there, Elizabeth. I've seen several people using those Ikea trolleys and they look great for a craft room! I have far too much stuff in my room now and keep putting off tackling the necessary major clear-out. Thank you for your visit, and yes, the method you suggested for making the pads would have been a lot quicker, but those towels were extremely tough, and my sewing machine was already complaining! I enjoyed doing them, especially the embroidery.

I was interested to read about your pre-diabetic condition - certainly eating a whole-foods plant-based diet has been proved to be extremely beneficial in the prevention and reversal of type 2 diabetes, and in any case, whole grains are very much better than refined carbohydrates because they don't cause the insulin spike, produce a lower GI, have a slower transit rate and feed your gut microbiome with all the good stuff too! If I had known years ago what I now know, I may even have managed to hang onto my colon! People with problems processing starch often do better with sourdough bread, too, for the same reasons. It's also really delicious!

Thank you for your good wishes for my PIP assessment.

Happy WOYWW,

Beautifully organized indeed! I would love to take a peek in your pattern scrapbook-papers... I'm really hooked on pattern papers these days and tear them to glue pieces in my art journals. Thanks for your visit to my blog the other day, happy - belated - woyww. Hug from Holland. Marit #14

We should start a union for craft collection curators Elizabeth lol. Like the alternative desk view this week. I couldn't be without my trolleys. Happy WOYWW. Sarah #7

So I can label myself a curator now, thanks for the excuse LOL.
Glad you and Em took time out for the BH weekend, whether it applied or not in Scotland. That is the joy of the retired, mid week travel and enjoying the weather when we have it etc.
I have a trolley just like yours, same colour. it was used to house my medication at the side of the bed but now we have had the bedroom done I don't need it. it fits in perfectly with the colour of the bathroom so now houses towels. No room in my craft-room for it or it would be in the there and to heck with the towels.
Hugs, Neet 2 xx

Oh no...Ive got When Were Orphans lined up and ready...ive sort of been putting it off too, so it will be the more interesting now, see if I can get through it! The top layer of your lovely trolly is what Stampin’Carol refers to this week as a pile of ‘goodness knows what’ and it made me laugh aloud. SO much so that its a new acronym for me GKW!! You keep having Bank Holidays whenever you like, its a plan that I’m trying to impose on Bart!!

Thank you for your visit earlier.
Having just acquired a trolley, I can see what the fuss has been about! One for 'essential' tools ..... now that would free up a bit more room on the desk, although I was thinking about another one!
Happy belated (very!) WOYWW

Ahhh hols whether real or designed by self to fit the occasion seem special even when retired Elizabeth, well done you and EM!
Love that trolley saw them in Hobby Lobby or Michael’s in Florida when with my friend. I think they’re here too but don’t need to know that.
I agree re Stamps and went to do a cull to sell on eBay ... then I think, no, I might just need that for such and such! So didn’t get far on Stamos, other things yes, but not stamps! Maybe one day. 😆😉
Sorry I’m incredibly late... again!
Happy very belated WOYWW. Thanks for sharing, Shaz in Oz.x #4
