WOYWW 424 - and winner of book giveaway

Morning Deskers and All,

Wednesday again! What black hole swallowed up the last seven days ... my life is flying by in a series of Wednesdays at the moment. It's going to be a very quick post today because, as you will see, there's nothing much going on at my desk.
Here it is in all it's messy glory. There's been no progress on the planned layout - the supplies are still there but that's about it. I have been experimenting with alcohol inks so there's a pile of bits on the left and a card on the right resulting from that - see the previous post for more on the card. The plant label is for Snow-in-Summer - the plant went in the garden on Monday so, of course, the label was tossed on my desk and forgotten. The rest is the usual pots and dishes I keep around me. The little rose printed dish is to put wet wipes in - they can make such a mess if not kept out of the way ... ask me how I know!
This is a close up of one of my most recent acquisitions found in a charity shop. It's perfect for keeping embellishments in while making a layout - that will be the layout I'm not making at the moment.

The book giveaway

Four people expressed an interest in reading the book so we made the draw in this time honoured tradition:

DH did the deed and drew Helen.

Please email me Helen, on ellie.worthington@sky.com, giving me your snail mail details and I will get the book off to you as soon as possible.

That's me done today. I'm off to visit my sister now so I won't be able to leave comments until later when I get back.

Have a happy WOYWW.

Congratulations Helen. I like the idea of a glass dish for messy wet wipes. I sometimes keep mine after they've dried out if they are an interesting shade to use in future projects. Happy WOYWW. Sarah #17

Congrats to Helen - that looks like a lovely read - will look it up on Amazon to see if there's a Kindle version! Love your new bowl and that butterfly tape in it- I would just tend to chuck things in there indiscriminately until it's full, at which point I would probably empty it into a box, put it away and forget about its contents for the next 6 months at least LOL! Hope you have a good week! zsuzsa #18

I'm rather late calling in today but yesterday ( on my day off!) I had a customer request 3 School Memory bears making for Thursday (yes tomorrow!) so quilts had to be put to one side and I've been head down sewing all morning....have now got an evening dress to shorten and a gents jacket to shorten the sleeves on.....all being collected tomorrow!!
It looks like your Mojo has gone away on holiday with mine at the mo lol Let's hope they come back soon.
Hugs,

The weeks are flying past so quickly - no wonder many of us seem to wonder where the time has disappeared to and get less done than we expected lol
Have a great day! :)

There's obviously a story behind the wet wipes and the bowl, lol! It's a sweet little dish though and a lovely addition to your desk. Tell me about the time going, we have a clear week with no visitors at the moment and I'm not quite sure what to do with all the free time!!

Love your container for embellishments, Elizabeth - good to get a find like that in the charity shop. Thanks for sharing what's on your desk today - lots of interest. Have a good week. Hazel WOYWW 12 x

Ah Elizabeth...the wet wipes that have 'bled' onto card backs, envelopes, backgrounds that have been washed out because I've been careless...it's a horrid lesson. And your solution is lovely, gotta love a bit of china on the desk! We appear to be scrapping in the same method, you and I. That is, I'm not, despite my intentions!
So some china, a glass dish..my word, there's finesse on your desk!

Hi Elizabeth!
I love going to charity shops and finding those one of a kind things. The price is usually quite right too!
I love the little dish you put the names in for the book draw. Definitely my style.
I'm visiting late this week!! Today is my last day on the job and I'm taking advantage!
Happy WOYWW
