Tattoo Art Cards

Afternoon Folks

I hope you are well and having a great day. It's a tad damp here ... providing the perfect excuse to stay indoors and craft. As if I needed an excuse :)

Not that the cards I have to share today were made today. No, they were made weeks ago, one being for my pre-teen, into everything weird, granddaughter Shari-Ann's birthday. At eleven years old she's well past the shocking pink stage and into the shocking punk phase!
That being so, I chose a Tattoo Art topper sheet together with  a sheet of coordinating cardstock. They were included in a Kanban kit and were a theme I never thought I'd find a use for ... just goes to show, you never can tell!!!
This is the card I made for Shari-Ann - black, graphite, red roses and that gruesome skull. It's created from am A4 sheet of white cardstock which was folded in half and then half of the front was trimmed away so that the topper is sort of suspended over the inside. Red mirror card, black lace, red ribbon and grey flowers decorate the front.
Glitter eyes and scary teeth. The topper is matted on to a layer of red mirror card, trimmed with some printed ribbon, and black flowers (NBUS that have been in the flower box for years!).
Inside, the card is decorated with a strip of the graphite card, matted on to the red mirror, more black flowers and a greeting from the topper sheet.

Having completed the first card, I found there was so much material left over that, rather than consign it to the snippet pile, I made this stepper card too.

The base is a pre-cut shaped card which already had the circle die-cut on the front. I did alter it by folding the front and back in half to create the stepper shape. I did use a circle die to cut silver mirror card for the topper matting. The die-cut hearts from a Tando Creative Grab Bag - yet another NBUS - have been sponged with red distress ink and covered in red glitter glue to make them sparkle.
Odd view but I hope you can see from it how I folded the card to create the stepper shape.
And here's the back of the card decorated with a leftover snippet from the topper sheet.

That second card killed the kit!

As I didn't just stop myself from adding to the snippet pile but even used up several snippets too, e.g. the silver card, I'm submitting the second card to Pixie's Snippets Playground - Week 133 ... my second visit this week ... gosh, I am improving :)

Oh, and Shari-Ann was delighted with her card because it was so different ... all the other cards received were pink! I am now officially the trendiest grandmother in the world ... who would have thought that possible!!!

Right, it's lunchtime for us here so I'm off to grab a crispbread or two and a cuppa, then it will be back up here again and into the sewing corner .... I have three pairs of trousers waiting to be shortened. Hope you have something more interesting to keep you crafting today :)

Happy Crafting,

Bet your grand was over the moon with this wonderfully designed card. Loved all the bright sparkle and items that you've added (even though I'm not into gothic! We have some in the family that think it's cool, just like your teen). You made her special interests into such a pretty card(s) and how cool is that step card. You're a great granny! TFS & Hugs

Hi Elizabeth,
Those are really neat cards. Those are hard to find images. I think we may see more as time goes on.
Thanks for sharing and have a wonderful day.
