It's What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday again and I'm late. What's new? Only because I've been busy doing nothing more exciting than my domestic goddess tasks. But enough of the excuses, I'm here now and this is what's on my desk this morning.
Question: how many green ink pads have I got in my stash? Answer: the eight in this shot? No, there's more - at the last count it's eleven! You'd never guess that green is my favourite colour. The autumnal background was made for a challenge. Sorry, can't show the finished project yet - it's still a secret. But, talking of autumn, here's another card I made this week.
The topper was made from a bit of promotional mail received from our local garden centre I thought too nice to toss. It's layered on to dark brown card and the base is a square kraft card base. Course garden twine seemed an appropriate embellishment and the little wooden leaf perfect for the season.
And now, the book bit.
This week I've been enjoying the second installment of Shaun Bythwell's tales from what must be Scotland's most famous bookshop, The Bookshop in Wigtown. 'Confessions of a Bookseller' follows on from 'The Diary of a Bookseller' (soon to be a major TV series). I enjoyed both books very much. Apart from Mr Bythwell himself my favourite character is his neurotic Italian temp assistant, 'Granny'. It's only a week or so the Wigtown Book Festival which we plan to go to, and we will be sure to pop into The Bookshop while we are there. A mile of bookshelves - unmissable!
And ... finally ...
me this morning ...

Enough! Time for lunch. But before I go, I just want to apologise to everyone I didn't visit last week. Life, as usual, got in the way and I simply ran out of time. Today, I promise, I will do much better. Thank you to you all for your visits and your comments, they are very much appreciated.
Have a wonderful day.

Hi Elizabeth, wow, that's the first time I've seen anyone else with Ink It Up inkpads! You really DON'T want to know how many green inkpads I have! That's the trouble with having 'full set' syndrome, lol. Have a lovely week, Hugs, Shaz #5 X
Loving your Autumn card my friend! Lovely stamping too! Happy WOYWW!

I'll have to introduce the domestic goddess idea to my family too - they think things just magically get done by themselves around here! What a great use of a promotional leaflet - made a nice CAS card! Happy WOYWW! zsuzsa #18
It's ok, I have quite a lot of green fabric, so you're in good company ;-). I love how you upcycled that topper to make that really lovely card, it's fabulous! Clever gal. I haven't been a domestic goddess today so you get all the brownie points!!
Hugs LLJ 4 xxx
Another fan of green here, Elizabeth. A friend and I have been prepping more bags for our charity project and the she tried out her new popper kit!
I just joined a book club and I'm super excited. I love your book recommendations. Have a great week. Dorlene #27
Love your Domestic Goddess collection!
Green ink pads? Not a clue how many I have as there are one or two in the Adirondack range, then the Distress ones - oh I don't know. Well, your leaves look lovely in the various shades and I like your other autumnal card too.
The Wigtown Book Festival sounds fabulous - do you live close enough to pop in on ore than one occasion? The book sounds good too and I wonder if I would get on with the characters, they sound fun. Might just have to investigate.
hugs, Neet 1 xx (just woke up after my sleepless night, I now have lost most of the day Bah Humbug)
well, Domestic Goddess, what a great post today! daren't add up the ink pads in any single colour (let alone the total....) I am sure it would rival yours. The background is looking good - hope you share it when you can!! Helen #2
Green Elizabth! Iused to be a bit crazy on this colour and seemed to buy only green clothes but I've got over it now....well nearly! Great photographs of you as the Domestic Goddess Lol! No one would ever say this about me Lol! Wishing you a lovely creative week and a happy woyww, Angela x10x
Well hello there, from one DG to another!! Those pesky DG obligations sure eat into my craft time! Loving your bg, you've got me looking to see how many greens I have - first sweep netted 15 - think I'll stop there!! Happy WOYWW Cindy #16
You can never have too many ink pads in any colour Elizabeth lol. I don't dare add up mine. Great use of the mail shot on that autumn card. The twine and leaf are the perfect finishing touches. Happy belated WOYWW. Sarah #3
I'm running late with my visits today as I had a creative day yesterday making Christmas tree decorations!....a bit early for me but needs must when you get orders.
I guess I was one of your excuses for last weeks lack of time for visits but Oh wasn't it worth it? It was so lovely catching up with you both.
Hugs,

Ditto, Elizabeth, on missing seeing lots last week, but endeavouring to be heaps better this week, and two thirds there is much better.

I can probably boast half that number of green...but just in case it’s greater than that, I’m not inclined to go and look, because it will give a clue as to how many ones I have over all and I dont think that’s a good thing to know! The masterboard you’ve made for the challenge is really nice, I love how we all work in tune with the season changes. I’m looking forward to greens browns and leaves for a few cards!
Hi Elizabeth! I love the term Domestic Goddess, but I don't remember it when I should. I need to make myself a sign, so much better than "the one who has to (but doesn't want to) clean the house, under duress" Domestic Goddess is so much more positive. Maybe I should have a crown to wear while cleaning...Autumn has come too soon, the trees here are already changing colours, but I do love the beautiful days and cool nights. Your Autumn topper is lovely! Thanks for your visit, and Happy Belated WOYWW! Lindart #25
Lovely Autumn cards - the garden twine is the perfect finisher off isn't it. From another domestic goddess who has been so busy with birthday cake this week!! xx Jo
