Friday Smiles

Morning Everyone,

The weather hasn't been good - rainy, windy and cold - and we haven't been out much at all. I did go to a crop on Sunday but got so absorbed I forgot to take photos! But, there's been plenty to smile about so here's what I'm sharing with Annie over on A Stitch In Time Today.

Firstly, I loved these photos of the EM's great-niece, Kimberley, who is a very talented dancer. Here she is in rehearsals for KNT Dancework's 10th Anniversary show.

Kimberley (in white) with other members of her dance group
Up until a year ago Kimberley concentrated on Jazz/Modern dance but more recently she has been persuaded to study ballet too and, as you can see, is thoroughly enjoying the experience.

Next up is a shot of the EM caught in the kitchen. Baking a cake.
He makes exceedingly good cakes! Low sugar. lots of fruit, and very few calories!

Finally, just a few funnies that have made me chuckle this week.

Talking of rain ...

If I don't lie down, I craft - it's equally effective.

This last, from my 25 year old granddaughter, Jennifer!

That's it for this week. If the weather brightens up I hope to get out and about some and have a bit more to share next week ... if I remember to take photos, of course.

Have a wonderful weekend full of reasons to smile.

Hi Elizabeth. I had to smile at the last funny because for some reason I had actually been thinking about this very thing. Whether if I was a teenager again how I would change the things I've done but then I thought no because I might make worse decisions than I did before Lol! Great to see young people getting involved in activities like this and your hubby too though that would never happen at our house though my one is very good with cars and is out there at the moment playing with my old MG....well he says he's working actually but I don't believe that! Have a lovely weekend. Hugs, Angela xXx

Hi Ellie. I've managed to get to comment on your blog today. Sorry about last week. What a beautiful dancer Kimberley is....I think our little Lexi is going down that route too so watch this space. I'm hoping to persuade Dod to do more cooking once he's retired but I'm not too sure about baking cakes so well done EM....looks and sounds yummy.
I'm not sure I'd want to be 14 again now...the world is a very different place to when we were 14 and I'm sure I'd still make the same mistakes because at the time they weren't mistakes lol.
Hugs,
Annie x

Kimberley is a beautiful young lady and it looks like she is the star of the show. I don't blame you for being proud of her.

Goodness, you have a talented husband. Lucky you. If I don't make it, it doesn't get made (grin).

Yes, I LOVED the first funny. This was taken in the eastern part of the U.S., I could tell by the interstate signs. Rain is falling in nearly half the country, and over 14 million people are under flood watches and warnings. Man of our creeks are over their banks, and most in my area won't even crest before next Tuesday.

Hope you have a dry and sunny weekend, dear Elizabeth. Thanks for your words of encouragement, too.

I like to see the young ones exploring where their talents can take them. Kimberley certainly looks very at home on the dance floor.
Lucky you to have a hubby who bakes cakes, and low sugar ones too. My dear man wouldn't know where to begin!
Have a good weekend. Kate x
