Just a quick share from me today, but first I'd like to thank everyone who has wished me good luck with yeaterday's hospital appointments - all those good vibes must have worked because the outcome was good.
However, it was an incredibly tiring day and I was absolutely whacked when I got home, so couldn't find the energy to do much at all and fell asleep as soon as my head hit the pillow ... that doesn't happen too often!
Today, I had an appointment with the dental hygienist in the morning and the EM had his this afternoon. It's certainly been a busy few days for us.
As a result of all this being busy, I've only found time to make this quick and easy birthday card for a wee boy.
I simply took a piece of blue textured card, folded in half, for my base card. The white embossed card was already done - included in the lovely package received from the lovely Chris Lee. The bunting was cut from a snippet of gingham patterned paper - a bit of trial and error with the measuring but I got it right in the end :) The ends are folded over and adhered and then the baker's twine threaded through before attaching to the card.
The polka dot paper for the butterflies is patterned on one side only and I didn't want the butterflies to have a white underbelly, so to speak. The solution was to adhere two butterflies together so that they were patterned on both sides. A few sparkly gems along the backbone (thorax?) finished them off and three matching buttons complete the embellishments.
Papermania Textured cardstock in light blue
white embossed card, Happy Birthday
snippets of blue gingham paper and green/white polka dot paper
small butterfly punch
green/white baker's twine
tiny light blue gems
More snippets used up means this is another card for Di's Snippet Challenge #33 - I'm doing well for entries this week :))
It's been another changeable day here today ... dull this morning but the sun is shining right now and, though it seems a shame, I've had to pull the curtain to read the screen!
I hope you are all having a lovely day too.
