D for Deer

The next card in the A-Z series is D for Deer. For this card I chose another digital image, this time Deer Wishes from Clear Dollar Stamps. This scene features two of my favourite things, red cardinals and those cute mail boxes that you see all over America.

When I was an exchange student in Massachusetts I had a bird feeder attached to my dorm window and along with big blue jays it was visited by the nervous little cardinals.

I hadn't tackled a scene before so this was quite challenging, and, needless to say, I forgot to keep a list of the Promarker colours. The tan double stitched ribbon is from Funky Farm Scrapbook Barn and I've tied faux bows around it - I think they look less fussy this way, which is better for a male recipient as this may be.

The design paper is from the Papermania A Silent Night A5 paper pack. The matting card is a gorgeous copper one that I bought loose from my local craft shop.

I designed the digital sentiment myself - an experiment that went right! I'll be experimenting like this more often.

The flowers are Hero Arts Art Flowers Vintage Collage - I added a small brown button tied with gold thread to the centre.

And, as usual, I decorated the inside (with another one of my own digi sentiments)

and the back.

this time with a panel in the centre. The label is from Sentiments4You.

The next in the series is E for Eve (Christmas Eve) which I will be posting soon.

What a gorgeous image, Elizabeth. I love the mail boxes too, they are very American aren't they but always remind me of Christmas somehow!!
I'm very impressed with your digital sentiments. I've been having a play with the same thing today but have had to ask Hubby for help as I got stuck!!!

Hello Elizabeth!
This is such a beautiful card, I love the lovely image and papers and the vintage flower is perfect!
I also like the greeting, so cute! I think you're right about the faux bows, they're better suited for masculine cards.
