What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday - Week 508

Good Morning,

This is going to be the fastest WOYWW post ever as I have to be somewhere in a hurry - and my grandson won't wait! So, without further preamble here's what's on my desk today - the last for February.
There's the usual suspects - boxes of Christmas stash, a saucer of die-cuts and the gardening album - still nagging to be finished, of course. It's time will come, eventually. What is different is the stuff at the front. Bits and bobs for this month's Rudolph Day. The Scottie dogs are cute and will look great with the red/white 'tartan'. I heard in the news this week that the real Scottie dogs are an endangered species. No longer fashionable. Such a shame, they are lovely wee dogs.

I'll be back later this afternoon to join in the desk hop and leave a comment or two but in the meantime I wish you all a very happy Wednesday and a great crafty week ahead.

In the meantime, bye for now.

I'm presuming you are meaning the black scottie dogs? We do see several on our Sunday walk at Attingham and many white Westies but it doesn seem Cairns like our little Milly aren't seen so often....or is it that our Milly is just so darn cute that she draws lots of attention? :-)

It's all ready and waiting for your return Annie how lovely. My Mom had a Westie when I was a teenager & he was so spoilt also quite agressive but looked like butter wouldn't melt hee hee! I was the only one that could trim & bath him as everyone else was scared of him..! Bless him.

I have had some lovely fabric and buttons featuring Scotty dogs in the past but didn't realise they were endangered. Bit like Suffolk Punch and Shire horses as well. Hope you've had a lovely time with your GS and family!

Hi Elizabeth. I heard that too about the Scottie which is a great shame. There are a couple that walk scotties in the park and they are so cute, that is the dogs of course. Have a great woyww, what's left of it and a happy creative week, Angela x14x

I actually have Scottie dog addiction Elizabeth.. really aided by a friend who hunts them out. Scottie on bookself.. large watchdog style and a wee ornament one I bought in Edinburgh in 2006. The pillow case I'm sitting on in my armchair. And a nice big lovely china soup mug a beautiful vintage 1950's glass and I coukd go on! Love your red Scotties. Hope that rumour was wrong as I think they're gorgeous.

Well I never, I would not have thought of Scottie dogs going out of fashion. They have always been a great fashion accessory in card making, especially with a mini skirted girl alongside. Shame. Maybe your cards will help bring them back into the forefront.
Love your tartan paper too, just thought that a pad of such papers would be wonderful for Christmas cards.

Yes I saw that item about Scottie dogs - it's bonkers how there are "fashionable" dogs isn't it. I love a little Scottie! Hope you are well. xx Jo

Perfect for christmAs and tartan, those lovely Scottie’s. A bit shocked to read that they’re on the decline, you kinda just take for granted that domestic animals are always safe. Hope you had a nice time in the company of your grandson.
