Have a Wonderful Day - my card for DH

Morning Everyone,

I hope you are all well, and that everyone caught up in the gales, storms and generally nasty weather, is okay.

I have a busy day scheduled so this will, of necessity, be a very quick post. I just wanted to share the card I made for the EM's birthday today.
Difficult to photograph this one because of all the shiny surfaces. This is the best of a bad batch of pics. This was a painty, inky, messy job that took way longer than anticipated, but was great fun to do :)

The topper is made from one of the many prints pulled of the Gelli plate a few weeks ago, inked, stamped, waxed silver and Frantaged,  The base layer has been embossed with a little-used M-Bossibilities folder, inked and waxed ... that gilding wax gives gorgeous results but, oh boy is it messy :))
Materials used:

  • Black and teal Papermill Direct card
  • Spellbinders M-Bossibilities Regal folder, Martha Stewart Arches edge punch, Tim Holtz DIs, Black Soot, Peacock Feathers and Pebeo Silver Gilding Wax for base layer
  • Gelli plate, black, blue and orange acrylic paints; Special Touch Circles mask and bubble wrap for print Stamp from Sheena's A Little Bit Sketchy Only Words - Through The Rain and Black fine tip pen; Turquoise Frantage
  • silver card candi from Craftworks

That's it - I said it was going to be brief, didn't I. Got to get on :)

Take care and have a happy Monday.

Hi Elizabeth! First of all, a very Happy Birthday to the EM - hope you have a great day.

I love this card, just perfect, and can see that a lot of love, work and care went into making it. Grin, I had a first little play with gilding wax yesterday - and it's messy as you say - my result went into the bin, sigh. But, the effect is beautiful on embossing folders, I just couldn't make it anything but very patchy. Love the smell of it though sniff, sniff.

Hugs, Di xx

Wow, Eliabeth! That is stunning! LOVE it! I love my gilding wax - reminds me of old fashioned boot polish, but so much more exciting colour-wise, lol!

Hi Elizabeth,

Oh, but I think the photograph of your card is great! I can definitely see the texture and shine.

The shoes are very comfortable. The company is Dansko (European). Even though they are pricey ($120) they last for years and years. I usually allow my pair of them every other year. I actually bought this pair last Christmas as a present for myself.

Hugs,
Kay

A big Happy Day to EM. I'm loving this card, and I expect he did too. You are a whiz with the gelli plate & I have to find out about this wax product! Is it like the Stempel paste? It made a wonderful sparkly card, and that is one gorgeous EF you used on the front. Absolutely gorgeous card for a very special person in your life. I'm trying to find your 'moving post' so I can get clued in to what is going on. Is what happens when you miss a couple posts! TFS & Hugs
