Scrap Pages 13,14 & 15/2021

 Hello Everyone,

Welcome again to my blog and thanks for dropping in. I'm back with a few more of my scrap pages for the record.

These three pages were inspired by various Facebook challenges ... though I don't remember which ones now that weeks have passed. The photos in the first were taken many, many years ago (1986), in Malta on a visit to the set built especially for the Popeye film. We could only look at it from a distance then but I believe it's now a fun park.

The other two pages were made of photos of my daughter, both taken a long time ago when we were all a lot younger. Those two little boys in the Family page are both grown up, one married and the other engaged. How time flies. 

I'm keeping to my aim to use old stash up. All three pages were made using leftover paper scraps and ancient stash. In fact, the only new supply used, as far as I can see, is the white card stock that make up the background of the second and third pages. 

Hopefully, I'll be back again soon with a few more pages, just for the record.

Kitchen Update

Home Schooling

More dipping into old papers, embellishments and scraps from recent MTS kits went into the making of these pages. I'd like to say that I'm making quite a dint in the stash mountain but I'd plainly be kidding myself. It's clear I have a way to go yet. 

The photo in that first page is of my lovely mum and me after my graduation ceremony. I wasn't the first of mum's children to graduate, my youngest sister beat me to it, but mine was the first ceremony my mother attended. She was so proud and loved every moment and I was so happy for my amazing mum to be there to enjoy the experience. 

The other two pages are records of happenings from during the pandemic months. As we all know, home schooling became a necessity during the lockdowns and the EM's great-nephew and niece joined in enthusiastically. At least they did to begin with. The novelty wore off eventually and their poor mother discovered she wasn't, despite being a devoted mother, cut out for teaching. Still, they kept it up and somehow survived. The kitchen update just had to be recorded because it was planned before the pandemic hit us but couldn't be done until after the first lockdown finished and I can't begin to tell you how delighted I was with the results. 

Hopefully, I'll be back pretty soon with a few more pages, just for the record.

Scrap Pages 08 & 09/2021

Hello Everyone

And Happy Tuesday to you all. Continuing with the recording of my own personal scrapping challenge, that is to create at least 200 pages this year, here is another two of the pages made so far. There's more, but I don't want to bore you with sharing too much in any one post.

Both these pages were made for challenges from a Mind The Scrap cyber crop, and because we are in lockdown the subjects are, inevitably, to do with being home. I really did make the dresser in the top page - 27 years ago. - with the help of my mum. It arrived as a flatpack so I laid all the pieces out on the floor and, as mum read the instructions out to me, I put them together. I remember I was inordinately proud of myself and it still has pride of place in our dining room. 

The food in the second page was inspired by a new cookbook which concentrated on baking/roasting veggie meals in the oven. Food and the preparation and cooking of it, has become very important during this last year. Especially when I lost my sense of taste and then the sense of smell ... which has yet to return to normal.  

Because there is a mountain of leftover paper scraps here, I concentrated on using as many as possible on these two pages and as many old embellishments too. My focus was to cut down on spending and the amount of stuff that has accumulated over the years. It still is my main focus - I know, it's difficult to resist all the lovely paper collections, etc. but I try - some things will never change!

Christmas Card Club Challenge - Cards 11-21/2021 - Robins

Hello Everyone,

And welcome to my poor, neglected, blog. Life has just got in the way again and I suspect it will continue to throw us a few more curved balls before this virus has been defeated.  Despite that, I've managed to excel myself and create eleven cards for today's Christmas Card Club Challenge which was set by Margaret and is for 'Little Robin Redbreast'. Warning: this is a photo heavy post.

The toppers for the first three cards were stamped from my collection of winter birds and I will freely admit that I have used a lot of artistic licence in the colouring ... all done with Promarkers. 

The following cards are all made up using toppers die-cut from cards received over previous Christmases. I've paired them up with a variety of backgrounds, die-cut shapes, stamped greetings and embellishments. 

The backgrounds on these two were experiments using a gel printing plate and acrylic paints.

The following three cards have, like the first three, embossed backgrounds. 

And the last three have backgrounds of plaid patterned paper (from Stampin' Up).

So that's the end of my mammoth share for today. I have to say, I thoroughly enjoyed this challenge so thank you Margaret ... robins are my favourite bird, at Christmas and all year round.
