2015 Summertime Photography Scavenger Hunt - Part 1

Hi Everyone,

As mentioned in an earlier post, here, I've been out and about over the last few weeks scavenging for photos on Rinda's list for this year - my first year of participating. So far, I'm not doing too badly so here, in no particular order, are the first few.

#1 - A bouquet of flowers.
Discovered this charming tribute to a loved one attached to a silver birch that had been planted as a memorial in Eglinton Country Park. In a buttercup meadow the yellow roses looked perfect and I was touched to see that they have been placed in a bag of water to keep them fresh.

#2 - An ornate door knocker
Spotted on the door of a rather grand restaurant in Ayr town ...

... dine there and you get red carpet treatment.

#5 - Architectural columns

South Ayrshire's County Buildings are very grand with columns front and back.

#13 - A merry-go-round or carousel.
I discovered this bright and cheerful carousel with giant teacups down at a children's play centre near Ayr seafront.

#19 - A ticket booth
Found in the same children's play centre as the carousel - a lucky find.

That's the first five items found. Sadly, I missed the opportunity to snap item #18 yesterday simply because I didn't have my camera with me when the perfect overloaded vehicle drew up beside us at a set of traffic lights ... better luck next time!

The List for 2015.
1. A bouquet of flowers
2. An ornate door knocker
3. A person walking a dog (or other animal)
4. People playing a board game or card game
5. Architectural columns

8. Someone "plugged in" to social media

19. A ticket booth
20. A natural body of water
21. A photograph of you with a sign reading "2015 Summertime Photography Scavenger Hunt". Note: you may not use a substitute for this item.
And the possible substitutes for all but #21:

Alternative C: A rocking chair

Please check out Rinda's blog here for links to others who are participating and see what they have found to date. And if you would like to join in, it's not too late as the challenge goes on until September 22.

LOVE that door knocker! I missed three flags on a flagpole because we were moving too fast on the turnpike. I hope I get another chance!

You're doing great! Thanks so much for joining the hunt and linking up.
Those columns are so spectacular, but I was really touched by your story with the bouquet.
Can't wait to see what else you find.

Hi ELizabeth + thanks for your comment on my blog. Yep - an overloaded truck is a slippery one isn't it? I was * so* pleased to spot the large screen one - I'm glad I realised that it would be the perfect fit before I drifted on by the car park without snapping it!

Looks like you've been enjoying the lovely weather we've been having - and doesn't the Scavenger Hunt give us a great excuse to get out and about?

Julie :-)
