WOYWW - What's On Your Workdesk Week 248

Hello WOYWWers, Followers and All,

Time to join in with our weekly snoopy treat. And I can't believe that Julia has been hosting this great get-together, namely What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday,  for almost FIVE years now!!! Week 260 is certainly going to be reason to celebrate :)

So, without further delay, here's the state of my desk this morning.
Photo taken late Tuesday evening and looking exactly the same  this morning ... and it's not too bad ... it's certainly looked a lot worse some weeks! I'm still on a mission to use up as much of the patterned paper I have stockpiled as possible. Like the paper pack lying on the guillotine, and matching die-cuts, that are out on the desk today ... a magazine freebie that just got shoved in the drawer and forgotten. The two cards you can see were completed yesterday evening ... it's something of a record for me to make two cards in one evening. One using papers from the pack and the other from another, not seen, and using the pink and green cardstock lying underneath. Other items out, scissors, tape glue, reels of red super sticky tape, the greeting stamp set last used and some scraps of beading

In fact, I didn't get to the craft desk until late yesterday because there's another table I'm working on at the moment.
It's seed sowing time so the potting tray, compost, gravel, vermiculite, pots, etc., are out. The race is on to get all the seeds sown and either into the propagator or our brand new mini-greenhouse.

And here's what the postie delivered yesterday.
No, not crafty goodies but garden goodies instead ... twenty tiny lavender plug plants from a nursery in Fife. I'm always amazed at how well plants travel and survive in the postal system!
And here they are after being tucked into their new homes. Hopefully, they will settle in happily and be ready to plant out at the end of spring ... I've got a plan to edge the new winding path the EM constructed recently.

So that's what's on my desk today ... what's on yours? To join in just visit Julia at Stamping Ground, you'll be made most welcome, and you will find lots of links to the many other interesting and inspirational desks and crafts on show.

Oh I love lavender Elizabeth. We have so much of it here and will certainly be planting some at the new home if there isn't already some there :-)

I love lavender and have wondered about growing them. My Japanese String Bean starters are already 3" tall, and tomatoes, chilies, and green peppers are about 2" tall. All from seeds. As to your craft desk, looks busy too! Happy WOYWW and thanks for visiting!

Happy WOYWW Elizabeth! Oh, your new path will be so pretty lined with lavender, and smell wonderful.
I was just thinking that it is planting time, but I still have some clean up to do first. Must get busy with that or I won't have fresh basil, rosemary (mine died last year) and few other herbs.....and of course some new blooms too.

Oooh Elizabeth, you're putting me to shame! I'm so behind with all my gardening stuff. But it is my mission this week to catch up with some outside jobs...cutting back, sowing seeds, cleaning pots and the dreaded weeding too!
I haven't really had anything to do with organising this yarnbombing. I went on www.ukhandknitting.com's chairty page and there was this plea for scarves that are going to stretch between two nuclear establishments...7 miles worth of scarf! It will all be repurposed into blankets etc afterwards. So I would google to see if there's anything you're interested in joining in!

Bleubeard wants to know why you are using Bonnie's sandbox "digs" to start your plants in. No sense trying to explain it to him. He just put his ears back and walked away (grin).

I have had NO luck with lavender. I can't seem to keep it growing, no matter what I do. I've killed five large plants I've purchased over time. And I mean LARGE plants in at least 8 inch pots.

I have no scrapbook paper, but yours looks lovely. If I had it, I would definitely use it. What's on your desk is awesome.

Thanks for visiting while Bleubeard and I slept. He hopes Bonnie has a place to "go" now, and says hi to her, too. Happy WOYWW from #1.

Pretty papers you have there, I'm the same though, I put paper away and sometimes stroke it but forget to use it! I'm going to start using it though, need to otherwise I shall disappear under it all! Take care Zo xx 94

I envy you your lavender. It is one of the plants that I need to mix in with all my other new plantings, and take loads of cuttings this year to increase it. I need to get to work in my outside greenhouse too this week. I have the compost but I must make a trip to a garden centre for some more seed trays to get everything going. You have reminded me about the vermiculite too. Have a great week in your outside craft area. The builders are going to come back tomorrow, having decided on a plan of action, and take up part of the carpet and floor boards in my craft room, so no indoor crafting for me for a while. xx Maggie

Oh pretty paper with the matching die cuts. How fun and wonderful at the same time. Your 2 cards look amazing, too!
I admire the gardener in you. I'm afraid my English mother gave all of her green thumb to my sisters. One of my sisters even won a gardening contest and was included in a city wide tour of her garden a few years ago. Me? Plants plead with her when they see me in her garden.... "Please don't give her a shoot!" LOL

I was just telling the DH that it was about time to clear out the gardening boxes and get ready for spring planting. I bought some carrot, radish, lettuce, and pea seeds that will be going into the ground in a couple of weeks. I am so looking forward to the warmer weather! Love the desk and the papers you have out! Sorry I am so late getting by this week but at least I had some time come open so I could do some blog hopping! Thanks for sharing your awesome desk! Vickie aka Okienurse #57
