Evening All,
I'm late today but didn't want to miss Hazel's challenge this week - CHNC Challenge 109 - because, not only is it fun, but I think making at least one Christmas card a week is no bad thing ... it saves me stressing out at the end of the year :)
In an effort to save on the exorbitant postage Royal Mail sees fit to charge us in these hard times, this card has been kept super thin - absolutely no foam pads have been used in the making of it :)
Instead, I've used a recycled topper and added a silver embossed edging, with a tiny nod to frantage by sprinkling a little of the embossing powder around the sky. I've also added a bit of sparkle to the star just to give the picture a bit of a lift.
The base was a plain white card until it was stamped all around with a border of blue snowflakes.
The snowflake is stamped inside too, as is the greeting.
And, of course, the back is stamped too.
Materials used:
base: a smooth square white card
stamps: Hot Of The Press Magical Christmas stamp set
ink: Vivid Dye Inapt, Ultramarine
topper: old Christmas card cut to desired size
embossing: VersaMark and Heat It Up Silver EP
glitter: white iridescent
That's it - quick and easy for today.
Off to watch the second part of Silent Witness now.
Edited note: Oh, heck! Forgot, until Hazel reminded me, that I should add this card to her other fabulous challenge - CHNC Extra for February.
Take care all, have a wonderful weekend and happy crafting,

Beautiful card Elizabeth lovely Nativity scene, great recycling topper and a lovely background paper xx
This is lovely...That snowflake card is so intricate and fine!
I love the way you silver embossed the edges...How did you do the sort of random silver across the sky? I was tying to figure to how you got it to stick...cuz it looks great! It looks just like that frantage look!
Love the inside and the back...your signature look!
Ohhhh...I love silent Witness but i bet you are seasons ahead in Scotland:) You lucky girl!

Gorgeous Christmas card - I simply love the sparkly star! xx
Such a beautiful use of an upcycled card. You really enhanced its look with your added embellies, and I hear you about the postage. USA rates went up as well. TFS
