Situation Update & Scrap Page 22/2021

 Hello Everyone

Many thanks for visiting today and for all the lovely comments. Your continued support is much appreciated. I hope all is well with you wherever you are.

Situation update: things took a turn for the worse here last week when the EM became very unwell and had to be admitted to hospital on Friday. Happily, he's responding well to treatment but a scan shows that he has heart failure and his kidneys are damaged - all from having Covid-19 last year. Thankfully, he's looking and sounding very much better today and hopes to be allowed home soon.

Now on to today's scrap page.
Another one made in February - the intro page in my daughter's album. Juli was born premature and spent her first weeks of life in an incubator looking incredibly fragile, so this photo celebrates the day we finally got to bring her home. The background has inky splatters and some floral stenciling in green and pink inks. I dipped into very old stash for the patterned paper scraps, embellishments and alphas. Even the background paper is so old, I've forgotten the source.

That's it from me today.

Take care.

Scrap Page 21/2021

 Hello Everyone

Many thanks for visiting today and for all the lovely comments. Your continued support is much appreciated. I hope all is well with you wherever you are.

This page, from early March, was made almost entirely with scraps leftover from the MTS February kit.  The flower embellishments were fussy cut from packaging. The little camera is from a Nicole Jones 911 digital file. The photo is one of the few ever taken of me with my brothers and sisters together and dates back to May 1967 when we were all so very young.

That's it from me today.

Take care.

Friday Smile

Hello Everyone,

Thanks for visiting, it's much appreciated. And a very happy Friday to you all.

This red campion, Silene dioica, is flowering beautifully in our wild flower patch. And that is really something to smile because it seems to be one of the areas in the garden that has benefited from the neglect of this last year. I think it's interesting that this flower is named as red and not the pink it quite clearly is. There is, though, always a good reason for wildflower names and, for this one its all to do with the English language of olden days. When this plant got it's common name, there was no word for the colour pink, that came much later. So red campion it was then, and still is today.

That's it from me today.

Have a lovely weekend and take care.

Scrap Page 20/2021

 Hello Everyone

Many thanks for visiting today and for all the lovely comments. Your continued support is much appreciated. I hope all is well with you wherever you are.

This page, like the last one posted, was created way back in February. The layout is based on a beautiful Pear Tree Cutfile, simply backed by a very pink Cupid & Co paper, and one of my favourite photos of my youngest grandchild, Shari-Ann. She was just one year old at the time. Hard to believe she will be eighteen in a couple of weeks. Sigh.

The Cupid & Co papers were in MTS February Scrap kit and embellishments from old stash.

That's it from me today.

Take care.

WOYWW Thank Yous

 Hello Everyone,

Thanks once again for visiting and for your very welcome comments.

Although I'm unable to join in with everyone over on What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday, I feel I must just share the lovely cards and ATCs I received from two lovely WOYWWers, Jan (LLJ) and Annie (Wipso) to celebrate 12 years of Julia's famous blog hop.

Thank you ladies. It was lovely to be included in the celebrations even though my participation is noticeable by it's absence at the moment. Hopefully, we will get through this bad time and I'll be back and joining in with the fun again one WOYWW week.

That's it from me today.

Take care.

Edited Note: Apologies for forgetting to mention her and thank you too to Jo, (Twiglet), Annie's sister and sender of  the lovely felted ATC which, as she says, looks so very much my ideal Scottish Highland retreat ... if only!

In A Vase On Monday

 Hello Everyone,

Thanks once again for visiting and for your very welcome comments. So far the plan to share brief posts is working - if a bit late today.

Today's photo is of the pretty posy I made up from the flowers in our garden. There's aquilegia, astrantia, lady's mantle together with some fresh foliage.

That's it from me today.

Take care.

The Woodland Garden

Hello Everyone,

Many thanks for visiting today and for all the lovely comments. Your continued support is much appreciated.

It's not big, our woodland garden. In fact it's very small but it is currently my favourite place to walk. Among all the shrubs are two apple trees - blossom time is over but I can see the promise of fruit to come. And there's my treasured beech tree - brought all the way from the nursery on the banks of Loch Ness - looking fresh and springlike now that it has it's new covering of soft green leaves. The trees are underplanted with bluebells - just going over - ferns and aquilegia. Hidden from view is my secret bench - the best place to go to lift the spirit - even better with a cuppa and a good book, of course.

That's it for today. Hope to be back tomorrow with yet another brief post.

Take care.

Scrap Page 19/2021

 Hello Everyone,

Many thanks for visiting today and for all the lovely comments received yesterday from Annie, Cathy, Kate, Kathy, Margaret and Sandra. It's so nice to hear from you all..

As promised yesterday, I'm sharing just the one photo and it's this one of a scrap page I put together way back on 6 February this year. However, the photos scrapped go back even further to a family wedding in 1998. Alison the bride looked fabulous.

That's it for today. Hope to be back tomorrow with yet another brief post.

Take care.

Blog update

 Hello everyone,

Many thanks for visiting this poor old and neglected blog of mine. I keep hoping to get back to normal posting but regrettably it's not happening ... at least not for now. The EM's health is still not good and, sadly, shows no sign of improving even after all these months. Not that we've given up ... it is what it is and how long it takes to recover from long Covid is still a bit of a mystery.

So, having given it much thought I've  decided that the best I can do for now is keep things simple. Instead of long posts with lots of chat and photos, I'm going to keep it brief with maybe a photo and not much more. Just until things return to normal. Starting with this sweet little shot of our newest member of the family, Silver.

That's it for today. Hope to be back tomorrow with another brief post.

Take care.
