Hello Everyone ...

... and happy Monday to you all too!

As you can see, I've finally worked out how to add a new header to the blog. It's been a rather a steep learning curve for this oldie, but I got over on to the other side - eventually :) What do you think? Not bad!!

It's not entirely my own work ... I'm taking baby steps ... but, using Microsoft Publisher, I did add the blog title and inserted my own photo of my wee shelf of crafting goodies to this ready-made header from ShabbyBlogs.com. Now that I've worked out how it's all done, I'll be able to create my own header completely from scratch. In fact, I'll be able to ring the changes through the seasons very quickly and easily from now on :))

Today's share is another card made employing techniques that I've been using when creating scrap pages.

This time I've added a cluster to the top left corner of this card - again, this technique is one I discovered on Shimelle's courses. Bottom right, the 'little note' greeting has been stamped directly on to the patterned paper and the punched heart has been adhered with a pop-dot to add a bit of dimension.

All the items came from one paper pad. It's not clear in the photo but the cluster is made up of strips of paper; part of a journaling spot; fussy cut flowers; punched heart shape; pink rhinestones, lace trim and a ribbon bow.

The inside has been decorated with a length of the patterned paper too.

To decorate the back, the paper has been folded over to form a panel at the top and a punched heart shape added to the centre.

Materials: a square white base card; Simple Stories Generations paper pad; Inkylicious Sentiments 1 stamp set; Memento Rich Cocoa ink pad; small heart shaped paper punch; coffee coloured lace edging from stash; American Crafts Dear Lizzy two-tone pink grosgrain ribbon; pink rhinestones

Although this is not strictly a snippet card - all the items have been cut from one paper pad - it would be possible to create the same effect using scraps, leftovers and all sorts of bits and bobs. I can see all sorts of possibilities :) 

I've just seen the news and it would seem that many of you are knee-deep in snow, as forecast. In my corner of paradise it's been raining this morning and now it's cleared, I can see blue sky and fluffy white clouds, and there is absolutely no sign of snow at all. Me, I like snow ... well, more correctly, I like to look out at fresh and pristine white snow ... but I can understand those who don't, e.g. the EM hates it because he has to drive in it! So whatever your feelings towards the white stuff, I hope those of you in snowy parts are all safe, warm and dry. You know what they say, don't go out if your journey is not essential :)
