CHNC Challenge #106 - second entry

Hi Everyone,

I hope this finds you well and ready to enjoy the weekend.

I'm feeling a lot better today and much of the improvement has got to be put down to the many get well wishes you have all sent me ... thank you :)

Still not been doing much on the crafting front so here's another I made earlier.

Possibly the last Christmas card for now! Well, until next week, anyway :)

The pretty paper was in a RAK from a friend, thank you Dawn, the die-cut bauble came in a candy win last year, and all the other materials and embellishments were from my stash.

Instead of matting the paper on to red card, I've edged it with a red ProMarker pen. Because of the Royal Mail's sizing policies and swinging postal charges, I'm trying to make cards that can pass through the dreaded guide ... not an easy task!!!

The bauble was inked in red, then dried before stamping with VersaMark and my favourite Christmas foliage stamp and brushed with gold mica powder. It doesn't show well in the photographs ... not even in this close-up :( The word 'Noel' was stamped over the top and heat embossed with gold powder. Almost hidden by the red ribbon bow is the gold embossed top of the bauble. The sprig of holly was stamped, coloured with Promarkers, cut out and adhered to the bauble before adding the glitter glue.

Materials: blank white card base; paper from My Mind's Eye, edged with Poppy red ProMarker; die-cut bauble; Tim Holtz DI, Festive Berries; Stamps used - Penny Black Holly Bough with VersaMark and gold mica powder; Papermania Urban Stamps Noel greeting with VersaMark and gold embossing powder; Molly Blooms holly and berries stamped in black and coloured with poppy red and olive green ProMarkers; red and green glitter glue; red satin bow; green card candi

Not a Santa in sight - because he has gone into hiding - making it perfect for Hazel's challenge #106 over on CHNC.

Now that I'm feeling more myself again, I'm hoping to get back into the craft room and do a bit of creating - after I've cleared the clutter that has accumulated during my absence ... can anyone tell me how that happens!!!

And, if the weather is good, I'm planning to get out for a breath of fresh air this weekend. After a week or so of being confined to indoors, I need a dose of vitamin D, the one we get from exposure to daylight.

Take care all. I wish you all a wonderful weekend.

Happy crafting,

Elizabeth, so happy to hear you're on the mend. We don't need another Playground member under-the-weather! No we definitely DO NOT! This is a really lovely card, and when I enlarged your pic, I could see the gold detailing. Very pretty indeed. Loved the way you added the strips inside so decoratively, and I'm going to borrow your idea of the edging instead of matting. Could have used that idea last night on the one I posted today. Still deciding if it's gonna be a keeper! And wondering if I can unstick things to re-do. I can see that YOU don't have that problem. Liked the addition of the dimensional holly...nice detail. This is a beautiful card, and TFS. Hope you have some nice weather to enjoy being outside. Hugs

Love the card ...I so admire you crafting when you still feel unwell. I just cant get back in the zone.
Had to get a new laptop ...just learning to use it. All 5 GS's were here and someone???? put the other one on the floor ....final result ...smashed screen. We are going to try and get it mended as there are things on window7 I prefer to windows8. Take Care xx

Glad to hear you are feeling better now. No chance of vitamin D today as it has been rather grim down here!
Love your card and I had that paper and loved it! I may have a snippet or two left too!
Hope you are feeling better very soon.
