Halloween WOYWW - Wk 178

Happy Halloween WOYWWers, Followers and All,

I feel I should have a bowl of apples bobbing in water on my crafting mat today but, sadly, all I have is the detritus associated with cardmaking ... shame :) And why is that, you might ask, it's because I'm checking in at Julia's, the Stamping Ground, to reveal the state of my desk and it's not very interesting - hop along there and you can see the more interesting desks of others.

Photo taken very late Tuesday. After making a scrap page at the weekend and so creating a few leftovers, I thought I should use them up instead of adding them to the snippet drawer. So far, I've made a tag and a card and now I'm in the middle of making a final card with the very last  of this sheet of Vintedge Flourish. I seemed to have used it on any number of projects ... I've discovered you can get an awful lot out of one 12"x12" sheet.

I've been stamping the butterfly stamp using the second generation inking technique, hence the piece of paper with the swarm, or kaleidoscope if you prefer, of butterflies on it. Shame on me, there's a used and crumpled piece of kitchen roll still lying there! The other collection of stamps are new from Our Daily Bread, some of my favourite quotations ... I plan to use a Helen Keller quote for this card.

The rest of the stuff is either waiting to be used or has already been used and should be cleared away but I've been a roll today, so tidying up has been neglected. Later, I'll clear up later :)

We are off to see my granddaughter this evening - got to see her in her costume. We've seen her in this photo but I'm sure it will be even more impressive in real life - just look at those teeth!!!

It's now the wee small hours of the morning so I'm off to bed when I've posted this and hopefully will be up bright and early to link up with Julia and join in the hop - I look forward to seeing what interesting projects you are all working on this week.

Before I sign off, I'd like to once again send my best wishes to everyone who has been affected in any way by Hurricane Sandy ... I hope you have all been safe throughout and that your homes have escaped the worst of the damage.

I wish you all a happy WOYWW, take care and have a good week.

Oh, and Keep Crafting :)

I love that flourish paper - can see how you have used that time and time again! Hooray for Dunelm Mill - Julia and I spent a happy few hours in there, we could have bought a lot but restrained ourselves!! The fabric is great, I was a good girl and didn't buy much :)
Hope you and EM are fit and well,

Hi there Elizabeth - ah butterflies and paper such fun; and saw on a scroll down you have spotted the first Christmas tree... and the cards are lovely things from your pickies down there, so that detritus is great - if a pain to clean up! thanks so much for popping over and happy WOYWW Shaz in oz.x #37

Love those flourishes on that paper. Good for you using up the snippets. It reminded e to use up my stamped bits by making them into backgrounds when they are left over.
Great vampire girl, what a pretty grand-daughter you have.
Thanks for sharing and your visit.
Hugs, Neet xx

Love what's on your desk, I adore swirls!
Your GD is really playing the part. I don't do Halloween but wouldn't spoil the fun for the little ones although I think it was so much more fun when we were little and didn't get all the scary costumes. I loves duck apple etc.
Thanks for your lovely comment..

I'm sat reading my WOYWW blogs on my sick bed this week but have my mask on so you don't catch anything. I'm enjoying reading what everyone is up to this week [it's better than reading magazines :-) ]. I'm leaving a copied comment so you know I've called by because my hands are too weak and shaky to keep typing out my comments this week.
Big hugs,

Butterfly heaven there Elizabeth. Thanks for stopping by in the early hours, I woke at 3.30am and popped my link on all bleary eyed. I have since received my SSS&S prize from USA so have added that to the end. BJ#35

What a scary little Vanpire. With those teeth she better not eat too much candy. Your desk looks very productive...and smart to use up those snippets, cause they have a way of multiplying in the snippet drawer!

Out of all the names for a group of butterflies, I like Kaleidoscope the best It seem to go with their myriad of bright colours better than others. Quite the opposite of your scary little vampire. Thank you for your visit today. I think you can go back and listen to the program on Radio Merseyside online if you want to. Hope you have a good week, and that we don't get the remnants of that hurricane over here. Have you got snow yet up there? xx Maggie #44

I think you may have just inspired a butterfly tag! I'm feeling the urge to make one! lol Your grand daughter looks like a zombie vampire with her head tilted that way...that would mean she is double dead! lol So cute! Thanks for visiting my blog, yes I am lucky to not have been on the recieving end of Sandy! waving hi from the hills of North Carolina :)

You are good using up all your left over paper, mine always hit the box, but I do raid it constantly for smaller projects. The Halloween costume looks perfect and the make up - well, can I say it is scary?
Happy WOYWW.

I'm here late enough that I've seen your finished card and then some!! You do get on with it don't you, lol! Andrew does eat cake but he prefers rich fruit cakes to spongey, light cakes, I'm the other way round. We made the mincemeat and the Christmas cake at the weekend, so there has been more baking going on, just nothing to be shared right now!
