It's the Little Things - another ATC

Evening Folks,

I hope this finds you all enjoying your weekend.

Haven't accomplished much today ... I've somehow managed to catch the EM's cold now that he's got over it - as if having tortuous trotters wasn't enough!

So this is just a quick share this evening.

Just another ATC using one of those inky backgrounds I did earlier this week. On this one there's a mix of all three of the Tim Holtz distress inks, Peacock Feathers, Shaded Lilac and Squeezed Lemonade.

The stamps are a mix of Lavinia Stamps (the spider web, trees, toadstools), Kanban (the foliage, grass birds) and Tim Holtz (sentiment).

The inks are also from a variety of sources - mainly Papermania ink cubes and Memento. I'm still practicing the technique of inking a stamp up with more than one colour, e.g. I inked the spider web stamp with brown for the tree trunks, green for the branches and grey for the spider web. I've found it easier to do this if the ink pads are small - either cubes or cat's eye shaped - that way I can dab the chosen area of the stamp with the corner of the pad.

To make the spider web twinkle, I've used a Versamark pen and silver mica powder (Crafty Notions) - bad photo but you can see the sheen on this view.

I've always considered ATCs more of a challenge than any other thing I've tried and creating a scene from an inky background the most challenging of all, but it's proving to be fun trying :)

I hardly dare mention the weather - it's been good today, again! In fact, the EM had to get the hosepipe out and water the garden!!!

Right, I'm off to settle down with a cuppa and Lewis, then it will be an early bed for me tonight, dosed up with a couple of cold remedy tablets ... never let it be said I don't know how to live :))

Crafty hugs to you all,

Beautiful ATCs, Elizabeth! I love the discipline of working in small-size for ATCs - I think they are a fantastic art form, and the whole idea of swapping around the world is nothing short of awesome! Whoever invented the idea deserves a medal. Also, if you are trying out new techniques, ATCs are good because if it all goes pear-shaped, you haven't wasted much of anything! I love the different treatments with the spider's web. I love using Versamark and mica powders, and have been making little tags with this technique recently.

Thanks for your lovely comment - yes, I'm having great fun with my palettes and Shoshi's Blog Shop!

Gorgeous ATC Elizabeth - love all the elements. So pleased to see the beautiful results from your DI backgrounds - and the inking of stamps is something I have yet to try. Watch this space - something else on the to-do list.

Hope the cold clears up soon :(

Hugs, Di xx

it is lovely. I have never made one...I always think i am not creative enough to see and showcase the hidden theme.

I can see the web sparkle and it is so pretty.

Hi Elizabeth

Sorry to read that you have caught the dreaded cold!

We had one a couple of weeks ago and were well chuffed to see the back of it!

Loving what you have done with the silver mica powder here.

I hope you have a good Sunday and feel a little better today.

Love Jules xx
