WOYWW ... on May Day

Hi Everyone,

Oh dear, I'm more than late this morning, but for the best of reasons. Our friends, Margaret and Brian, all the way from Kirkcudbrightshire, dropped in very early, before 8am, on their way to Glasgow. Brian has a hospital appointment up there today so I hope all goes well for him and they return this afternoon with good news.

In the meantime, for Julia, at the Stamping Ground, and all you WOYWWers, here is the state of my workdesk today, the first day of May. (I can hardly believe we are into May already ... the days, weeks and months seem to be flying by.)

Some of you will recognise the boxes ... they are the cat food boxes I started prettifying a few weeks ago. Needless to say, I didn't get the job finished back then so I've rescued them from the forgotten WIP pile and moved on to the next step - covering them with pretty paper, Nature Garden which came free with Scrapbook Magazine some months ago.  What else? Besides the usual crafting necessities, including that cup of tea, of course, you can see part of a recently completed scrap page, some white glue, a roll of kitchen paper and some lace ... I'm debating with myself whether or not to use it to decorate the boxes. The pretty pink card only arrived this morning - it's from the lovely May, of May's Happy Daze, winner of one of my book giveaways. (Book Giveaway #5, can be found by clicking the link at the top of the right sidebar.)

And here's where the lace came from - I think I have enough to last me a lifetime :) There's even some trim my late mother crocheted tucked in there ... the pink and cream one in the centre and the purple and white just in view at the back  - I'm still looking for the perfect project to use these precious trims on.

Right, that's the state of my desk today, I'm now off to have a look at the state of yours ... almost guaranteed to be tidier than mine :))

Take care everyone, happy crafting, and have a very happy WOYWW.

  18. Hi Elisabeth
the boxes are looking good, aometimes you need to have a rest from a project to give you the inspiration to finish it... lace is a bit like handbags and shoes .... you cannot have to much or too many :)
