Hello Everyone,
It's WOYWW time again and, as usual, I'm late. There always seems to be so much in the way of domestic duties keeping me from my workdesk that I have very little to report. Except that is, for the EM's latest escapade - more of that later - and my fall from grace, evidence of which was on my desk this morning - I've cleared it now to make way for the keyboard.
Not a great photo because the sun is streaming through the window but I'm not complaining - we need the sun, even if it does show all the dusty corners. You may recall I stated, more than once recently, that I was on a craft spending freeze. Well ... this week I well and truly fell out of that particular wagon! Here's a better shot of this little beauty. I can justify buying this, not because it is pink ... I'm not even a pink kinda girl ... but because it is intended solely for sewing on cardstock and/or paper, thereby saving the life of my super dooper, all-singing-all-dancing, computerised machine which cost a mint and should not, definitely should not, be used to sew on to scrapbook pages. It is also extremely lightweight so perfect for taking on holiday and on crops ... whenever that bright day comes again. I've put it through it's paces and it performs very well. For a machine that's at the bottom end of the price range it's not bad at all with 10 stitch settings plus two for buttonhole making. It's set it up on the side counter ready to be used whenever needed - perfect! These trolley accessories just happened to jump into my basket too! As they say around here, 'it wisnae me' ... I had absolutely nothing to do with how my fingers kept slipping while that basket was open. And now, I hinted that I'd expand on what has been going on this week here at Casa Worthington so here's the gossip. The EM took a tumble on Friday morning, wrenched his right shoulder and suffered cuts and abrasions ... get me with the medical terminology! The ambulance took him to A&E where he was x-rayed and had the cut on his right hand stitched up. Needless to say, I wasn't allowed to be with him so he was brought home by the loveliest team of Red Cross ladies you'd ever meet.
Not the best pic ever, it was early evening by the time he got home. He's been the worst patient ever ... very intent on carrying on as if all is normal so, consequently, the wound is still bleeding. It doesn't help that because of his heart condition he is on blood thinning medication, but he does need to take things easy and guard that hand. Happily, he has an appointment with our practice nurse this afternoon and I'm hoping she will read him the riot act. There's never a dull moment with the EM!!!And finally:
Very apt.
And have a great week too.

Oh no, what are you going to do with him? I’m so sorry about the EM, you’d think he’d have had enough of hospitals by now! Seriously, I do hope he’s ok and gets over this last incident. That new sewing machine is so cute - I’m not a pink girl either but you couldn’t fail to be cheered up by that little beauty, hope you have fun!!
Hugs LLJ 10 xxx
I did the same a few years ago Elizabeth. I bought a bottom of the range Hobbycraft machine too (not pink!) and use it purely for card making. Hope your husband gets well soon. I have one just like that at home too - he had a lesion removed from his nose on Monday and was told to rest for a few days. That lasted all the way until Tuesday morning. He has two lovely black eyes too now! Take care. Christine xx
Hi Elizabeth - think I might be about to fall off my no spending wagon some time soon as well!! But it was done for a good reason, you were only protecting the investment you've made in the bigger machine. Sorry to hear about EM - that blood thinning med can be a nuisance - pruning the berberis can turn into a right old bloodbath!! But, for the best I guess. Hope he behaves so it heals up soon. Happy WOYWW, stay well, stay safe, love n hugs, Cindy #27
Hi Elizabeth. Oh poor hubby - but yes - he really must be careful with that open wound. Blood thinning meds are really good for their intended purpose - but a right old pain when you cut yourself! Give him our best wishes for a speedy recovery.
That little sewing machine is great - as you say, lightweight, easy to manouever - and actually made for the purpose - brilliant.
Take care. God bless.

oh poor EM- I hope he does take it easy and as he is told - thank goodness it wasn't more serious. Love the little pink machine - how cute - hope it does you proud - if it's good I'd love to know as I would quite like a sewing machine for working on paper, and I might just about have room for that!! Take care - both of you - and happy WOYWW Helen #1
It’s been a busy day for me so I’m late doing my visits...better late than never eh?
So lovely to see your new toy has arrived. I hope my stern words this morning dud some good and the patient is behaving himself. Give him big hugs from me and have one yourself.
Hugs,

Sorry to hear about EM’s accident and hope the nurse will make him takes things easier till his wound heals. I had a wee cheapie IKEA machine for paper stitching but I gave it away to a teenager who was desperate to learn to sew. I did use my good machine at Christmas to make tags but I’m not using it again as I know it’s bad for it. Happy scrapping! 💕
Sorry to read about EM I do hope he listens to the DN, he really does need to rest when on blood thinners, my hubby has them too and only has to have a scratch and it bleeds for hours.
It's a must to have a second machine if you use it to sew on card etc, it will save you money in the end. I have those extra cart storage thingies, they do the job intended.
Take care & Happy WoywW Tracey #12 x
Sadly there are always things to distract us from the crafty stuff which is why I am so late today...sorry tonight actually! I have that trolley too they are so useful especially with the extra bits. I also did the same as you and bought a small sewing machine just for sewing on paper and card as I don't like using my fabric one for those jobs. Take care my friend and have a happy woyww, Angela x19x
Oh Elizabeth, so sorry to read about the EMs antics...never a dull moment. And they’re such stubborn patients aren’t they, it’s as if they’re embarrassed to be real! Oh I do hope he heals well. Find him some gentle jobs...perhaps he’d like to do some sewing on paper?!! Such a great purchase...like you, there’s no way my ‘real’ sewing machine will be used for paper, so I’ve let the stitching thing pass me by really. Now you’ve put awful, naughty ideas in my head. Lawks. Enjoy that sunshine, it looks wonderful.
Oh goodness! I hope EM is feeling better but I suspect he might feel worse today after the aching comes out. Blood thinners are a marvel but not when you are trying to heal a wound, we've had the same issues with my Dad over the years. He's sick of me shouting ELEVATE!! I do like your pink machine and glad it's working okay for you. I bought one of the tiny ones and it was blooming useless. Then I thought, well I don't use my Brother for any sewing at all so why not just use that and change the needle if you EVER use it for actual fabric ever again.. Still not used it for either even though I had it serviced 2 months ago. Sigh. Spring blessings, Lisa-Jane #7
SO sorry to hear that the other half has been in the wars Elizabeth. Hope he takes it a bit easier soon so the wound can heal. I had to laugh at your first funny - especially given the way you have fallen off the waggon this week. Very justifiably though. Stay safe and Happy WOYWW. Sarah #4
Best wishes to A - hope he makes a speedy recovery. Now, that little pink machine! What a beauty - you will love having the freedom to use it any which way you want on paper/card etc. I always worry a bit about using my good one on card (I do have a bottom of range one too but I'm a bit lazy about getting it out!) The cartoon was spot on wasn't it! xx Jo
Love Snoopy :) and I have found that crafting things do follow you home sometimes :). I wondered if the trolley additions are quite stable or are they just for light things? I am buying my grand daughter a trolley for her birthday as she likes mine. Have a great week Angela #3
Hi Elizabeth! That's got to be the cutest little sewing machine ever! I need it! I have ruined one of my 2 sewing machines already from sewing on paper, and on the way to doing the same to my second one (the one I got in high school!) but so far it's still working, and I'm not sewing paper with it anymore as DD wants me to sew her something from actual fabric...but I will certainly look for something like yours! Have a great week, Lindart #30
I was only looking at a similar machine the other day! I don't know how rhyme make them for the money... mind you it didn't fall into my basket (my husband was with me...) Your funny at the end was so appropriate!
Hope all are now well in the household!
Happy WOYWW!

A pink sewing machine! ooh, nice! and the cartoon to go with it! Hubby has things like that, on a male theme, hanging in his shed...I mean Office. I have my mum's machine, it's VERY heavy, I've worked out how to threadle it, so might have a go at making some masks...only, they'll be cute doggy and cats one's and I just know I'll them mess up! Stay Safe, Keep on Crafting, Happy WOYWW!? ((Lyn))#21
Oh doesn't Life just keep giving us things to deal with? Day after Day, BUT I love the good You'll love the "Little" Pink machine. I've one and it's a easy fix in all respects. ENJOY IT. A little late with the visit, but between 2 days of router issues and time away I'm still trying to get printers in sync. Enjoy the weekend.
Oh poor you, Elizabeth, it sounds as if you've had a bit of a time with it lately. I hope things are settling down now, though, and that the wound will soon heal - that is, if he allows it to! Your little pink sewing machine is the cutest thing - I'm not sure I could have resisted it either! I'm glad it's more than surviving being put through its paces.
Happy extremely belated WOYWW - it's been such a busy week and I'm only now beginning to catch up.

Sorry I am so late (a whole week) but what the heck, I have made it finally.
Sorry to hear about EM. What on earth is he like, he should be happy to sit and rest a bit and be pampered especially as he is on blood thinners. When I cut my leg rather badly the blood would not stop pumping out and it really scared me so I did sit afterwards and rest for a few days. Remind him we only have 8 pints in us and if he is on a slow trickle it won't do him any good. (well I think it is 8 pints)
Love the pink sewing machine and what a great idea to get one for paper. Didn't know there was such a machine - must look it up a,s I keep wanting to sew paper like others do.
Take care, and tell that EM to sit down a bit more.
Hugs, Neet xx
