What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday - Week 523

Hello Everyone

Happy Wednesday, Whizzday and WOYWW to you all. It's show and tell time again though, as Julia, our Queen of Snoops, will be pleased to learn this is going to be fairly brief - there's not a lot going on today.
Apologies, the lighting isn't too good this morning. All that sunshine I've been boasting about recently - it's gone! So what's on my desk? Well, there's the permanent residents - the usual box of all sorts of bits and bobs at the back and the album I should be working on - it's there to nag but I'm quite effectively ignoring it for now. Centre front is a pile of scraps and dies just waiting for me to be inspired. The dies are all of various reindeer, pulled out for Sunday's Christmas Card Club theme. They will be put away for now - I'm so over Christmas in June already! To the side is the pack of holiday photos. It's not like me to be so quick of the mark but I couldn't wait to see the photos from the crop - and they are absolutely brilliant! Happy day. Hardly visible at the back by the keyboard is a new ink spray - this one is a gorgeous coral shade. Looking forward to trying it out - maybe on something in that pile of scraps. Oh, and through the square window, into the garden, there's just a glimpse of our fabulous black elder tree in full bloom - appropriately named 'Black Beauty' it's doing us proud.

I received this happy mail this morning.
From Marit, Marit's Paper World. Marit was my PIF for the tenth anniversary ATC swap and she's very kindly sent me in return one of her fabulous ATCs, a very informative leaflet illustrated with examples of her mixed media work and a fab postcard too. Even the envelope is amazing - handmade from what I'd guess is a magazine page - recycling at it's best!

Before I go, here's a photo of my cart.
Now home to the crop bear who has now become my constant crafting companion. Still not named her yet. I did think of Tenna, for the 10th anniversary, but on reflection I don't think it's appropriate for one so young :). So then I thought of Cropper but, again, I'm not sure. Cupcake has been suggested - she has cupcakes on her back - but I don't know. Decisions, decisions!

No book today. It's not that I haven't been reading/listening - a lot in fact - but I think this post is long enough today.

Thanks for dropping in, take care and have a wonderful WOYWW day.

Wow, you received my mail already? That's really soon as I posted it only last Monday... I'm glad you like the ATC and card. The envelope is made from a page from a large photo-book about Indian art that I bought in a second hand store for a bargain.. it's lovely to make envelopes from those big pages... thanks for stopping by and I'll laugh eating tomatoes now too ;) Happy woyww and a hug from Holland, Marit #21

Wow, that's fab happy mail from Marit! I can't believe you've been doing Christmas stuff in June but guess what's the biggest seller down at the new RNLI shop at the moment? Yep, Christmas Cards!! They are nice, mind you, and good value too but even so :-)
I think maybe Joy might be a name for the bear as that's what WOYWW brings to us each week. Just a thought!

Before I forget - we watched 'The Zookeepers Wife" over the past two days (I had to have a break as it upset me so much) about Warsaw in the war. I am sure it must be a book and thought of you. Have you ever read it?
We need a photo of Black Beauty on its own please, although if it is the pink flowers I can see it is beautiful.
You had me confused about Marit as she was my PiF so I checked back and you sent to her so I guess she sent some bits to you as a thank you like I did to her.
Sometimes life gets to complicated for me. OL

I've been playing with ideas for little bear's name Ellie.....
Caraidean.... gaelic for friends
Decade in Gaelic is Deichead [said incorrectly I think that is more about the lady who made her :-) :-) :-) ]
Or just....Polly the party bear.
Can you tell I've just finished my day's sewing and have nothing better to do?
She really couldn't have come to a better home that's for sure.

Awww you could always call her Tena (Prounounced Tina) it's not far off the tenna hee hee!! Isn't she just lovely. Fab arrivals from the wonderful Marit. I've so enjoyed seeing everyone's swaps & PIFS. Hope the sun makes an appearance again soon, feels like i've missed out on the best bits of ours.

Your won bear is a beauty. I didn't see it in photos from the crop, so this was a real treat. The balloons are an added fabric element that Annie used, and was so fun, too.

It's unseasonably hot and humid (and rainy) here, so Christmas cards are the furthest from my mind. Lucky you for being in the mood. Happy WOYWW from # 8.

Hi Elizabeth, oh my, I giggled at calling the bear Tenna! Not sure what ink spray you have couldn't quite make it out. I gave in and bought a few Distress Oxide sprays ... oh I am in love with them, and I've only used them once. I can already see they are going to be a firm favourite. Thanks for stopping by earlier, I really don't like my desk being so messy. Tidy up tomorrow! Have a lovely week Heather xx #12

Our WOYWWers are such a lovely bunch of crafters - beautiful work from Marit. Thought Tenna was brilliant but maybe Sarah's Snoopy is good too - being a Libran I wouldn't be able to decide! xx Jo

Fabulous artwork from Marit, Elizabeth, and what a sweet bear! I am sure she will tell you herself in due course what her name is. They have a way of doing that! Thank you for your comment and your good wishes, and I'm glad you enjoyed seeing the kitties. They had a major spat this a.m. and the fur literally flew - but later, after a nice long sleep to calm down, they were fine with each other again! Lily is the "senior" one and every now and then I think Ruby tries to assert herself a bit.

Happy belated WOYWW,

I think "cupcake" would be a great name for her! Lovely mail from Marit - lucky you! Your desk looks nice and busy! Your peek though the window is lovely! Our crabapple finally bloomed, looked a bit like your tree, but those blooms just don't last long, especially in the rain! I'm late getting to WOYWW, but on Saturday mornings I have a little time! Have a great week, Lindart #30
