Happy New Year, WOYWWers everywhere!
It's WOYWW #500 - amazing! Five hundred weeks of revealing all on a weekly basis. We're a tenacious lot, us Deskers, though clearly none more tenacious than Julia, our indefatigable Head Desker. Congratulations Julia, and long may What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday continue.
There's not a lot on my desk today. There's the pile of Christmas cards - many beautifully handcrafted by my lovely blogging friends. There's also a numbers die set I'm planning to use for a thirtieth birthday card. My oldest grandchild is turning 30 this week and it seems like only yesterday he was born!!! The pile of card/paper at the back is the result of sorting through stuff for that layout I'm working on - after an entire month of not making one December layout! No December Daily for me - our Decembers are really not that exciting. But I'm now ready to make a few 12x12 layouts to record some of the highlights of the month.
Hope you've enjoyed the festive season. And that you've returned to your desks just raring to go. No! Well, ditto! I've spent the morning helping the EM to take down and pack away Christmas for yet another year. Gone are the days we would have waited just a little bit longer, hanging on to the last of the festive cheer ... we can be cheery without. However, I am suffering from a little too much of that cheer - the scales made that only too clear this morning - so it's back to bringing a bit of exercise into my daily routine. Nothing too strenuous to start with - just a few step exercises and a short walk around the block got me started today. And I'm so glad I did - otherwise I would have missed this fun sight.
I might just pop round when it's darker in the hope of seeing it all lit up.
No book bit this week. I'm listening to the last of my Christmas reading - listed here - and as hoped it's proving to be a memorable read.
Wishing you health, wealth and happiness in 2019.
Mine is not paper but fabric and beads. On my desk is my cat, the current work in progress.
ReplyDeleteI wonder just how many hours I spend on these embroideries, I must tot one up sometime.
Happy new year

Happy New Year Elizabeth and EM, hope it's a happy, healthy and fun one for us all! I know what you mean about your Grandson, I heard yesterday that a boy who I used to look after as toddler (20 years ago) has just become a dad!! I feel old........ 😊

Hi Elizabeth, Happy New Year and happy 500th WOYWW. Our Christmas decorations are all packed away too. I like to have them gone before I am back at work. I've not jumped on the scales yet ... I'll wait a few weeks for that, maybe burn off the pounds before they register! Have a lovely week Heather x #33
ReplyDeleteThat is a fun sight...hope you see it all lit up. Wishing you a Happy and Creative New Year. Thanks for Sharing. God Bless, Caro x (#20)
ReplyDeleteHi Elizabeth. I wish you and hubby a very happy and blessed new year. Love the house decorations you found!! Great fun - and I agree - definitely worth a night time visit! There is one near here, on the Little Orme, which is incredible - I have heard they have professionals in to do it - quite makes my day going past there! Trees, santas, sleighs, the lot all lit up. Great fun.
ReplyDeleteTake care. God bless.

ReplyDeleteHi Elizabeth. It's great how much effort some people put into decorating their homes, bet it looks lovely. Looking forward to another year of friendly creativity. Happy New Year and big hugs, Angela x16x
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year Elizabeth. I can't believe you have a grandchild of nearly 30! I am hoping that hubby will sort out the Christmas decorations on Saturday when I'm at my workshop lol. Happy WOYWW. Sarah #12
ReplyDeleteHi Elizabeth, yes, the decorations are down here too. I invested in a couple of Alpha die sets recently, especially as I found some on Amazon- probably from China- at ridiculously cheap prices. Happy New Year, Hugs, Shaz #5X
ReplyDeleteHi Elizabeth, yes I’ve walked today too and yesterday, although today was a proper long and “quick for me” one! I didn’t need to hop on scales tokniw it was not good, my clothes told me!
ReplyDeleteFocus must return to life, although my decorations are staying up till 6th as I love them. I’ve done some tidying up today and was late to letterbox, where I found a lovely card from you.
I’m sorry I don’t think I sent you one, thanks for the very kind thought and yes, the highlight of my year is meeting you and EM and all others at the crop...thanks to WOYWW and Margaret kindly enabling.
Yes years fly.. a thirty year old grandie! Time passes so quickly.
Happy belated WOYWW #500 and blessing for 2019.
Hugs Shaz in Oz.x #10
Happy 500th WOYWW, Elizabeth, and happy, creative 2019! hugs from Kim #30
ReplyDeleteOoh Elizabeth, you called me indefatigable! I think I like that. It might make rather a good badge!! know then, a brilliant happy New Year to you lovely both..I demand you stay in good health and you’re in good company to start, I think I will break the scales when I get on them. We’re on a wee holiday at the moment and have just slogged up some very steep hills to get from coast to apartment (Tenerife). I think at several points meBart thought he was going to have to take serious action. Oh lord, why do I do this to myself?! Scrap wise...you know I did the December challenge at Inspired by Memories...so that proved to me that I can MAKe time....so now it’s just about finding mojo and if you’ve got it Gal, scrapto the exclusion of anything else...The EM won’t mind, I’ll write you a note! Despite her spelling, I find the odd challenge really helpful which came as a surprise...dare you to try one! Not wishing the year away, but really looking forward to June for the Crop! Xx
