Wednesday again! The day in each week when we crafters join in with our Keeper of the Desks, Julia, over at the Stamping Ground, to reveal what's on our desk. So without further preamble here's what mine looks like this morning.
Tidy! Makes a pleasant change - it won't last, that's for sure :) That white pile is something that is always somewhere on my desk but usually out of sight. It's not card, as you might expect, but sheets and scraps of copy paper ... rather than toss it I use it for notes, lists, testing stamps on, etc., etc. Over time the pile gets really messy, threatening to fall on to the floor, so I'm just straightening it up before putting it out of sight once more ... but now you know what's on the side of the desk that is rarely seen. On the left, the layout that can be seen in the previous post - scroll down to see more - and under that is the kit that I wrote about last week - WOYWW 270 - still working my way through it. In fact, there's another finished layout hidden there - to be written up some time soon. Top right, a card and wee gift for my grandson working up in Shetland - I need to get it into an envelope and posted. Next to that, I've finally inked up the little stamp that has been sitting on the desk for weeks! Just in time for Rudolph Day later this month :) The little tray at the top has become home to the materials for palette printing - more of that here. The pile of black ink pads - in constant use so no point in putting them away - and the green basket contains watercolour paints - neglected at the moment but there to nudge me back to working on the class again :)
I'm keeping it brief today, well brief for me - just the way Julia likes it. I should go have a shower and get dressed - yes, I'm still in my PJ's - but I'll just finish the buttered toast and tea I have here first and only then will I, as the EM says, push the 'GO' button :)
Just a quick weather update: it's still pretty foul here, lashing rain and strong winds. No flooding, as there has been in the north of the country, though I can't think why not, we've certainly had more than enough of the wet stuff over the last few days :( If you are anywhere near Elgin and Dallas, Morayshire, you have my sympathy - it must be awful.
Oh dear, must go, there's a stand-off going on in the garden ... a black cat is threatening The Boss ... I can see there's going to be some fur flying if I don't intervene!!!
Have a lovely WOYWW and a great week.
Happy Crafting,
PS: fur flying disaster averted.
PPS: surprise, surprise, the sun is shining now :)

Happy WOYWW Elizabeth, hope you sorted out the cats...neat desk and I too have one of those white scrap paper piles, very handy. Cheers and have a great week, keep dry RobynO#39
Glad the sun is shining and that you have averted flying fur!! Have a great day. x Jo
We have a pile of paper scraps like that and I'm still trying to figure out the best way to keep them neat. I do like to not be wasteful, but the messiness make me crazy. :-)
Happy creating and Happy Woyww,
Sandy #55
I have a little pile of scrap papers too! It's a must have when you're crafting. Happy WOYWW! Sandy Leigh #54
Afternoon Elizabeth!! Late today, stuff to sort out this morning and haven't done a lot of crafting although I have tidied since my WOYWW photo. Hope you managed to broker peace in the garden! Happy WOYWW Cindy #57
I think the day my craft space is that tidy, is the day I give up... which won't happen, lol!! Hope you're keeping dry, we had a torrential downpour at work this afternoon, rivers of rain running down the road and within 5 minutes of it stopping (ok 10) it was all dried up and bright sun... British weather, eh?! Helen 3
Oh I hope the furry fracas ended peacefully ^..^
Now onto your tidy desk... I love that you post in your Pj's. A woman of my own heart!
We've been blown by the hoolie and lashed by the rain but no floods thank goodness. Our soak-away has turned into a pond but I'm okay with that for a wee while. It's soak away as the name suggests.
I'm going to now organise a scrap paper pile as I haven't got one.
Enjoy WOYWW

Sorry to hear you've had to resume ironing duties..can't you just flatten them with your hands?!
Your desk is immaculate today..well done! Does that mean you get extra brownie points? I keep all sorts of paper and card to do shopping lists etc too. It's not being tight, it's helping the environment! Lol
Hugs, LLJ 12 xx
your desk looks remarkably tidy considering all that is going on on it.
have fun and that smile doesn't look so very secret

We have been very lucky with the weather down here. We seem to miss the very worst. Just enough rain to wash the patio and water my plants to save me time. Please can you come and tidy my desk for me, as yours is so neat and tidy. Thank you for your visit and lovely comments on my blog. Take care of the Boss. I used to rush out to rescue our cats when we had them, anything to stop potential injuries and extortionate vet bills. This is the time of year for fighting, unfortunately, and most of it beneath my bedroom window. Have a good week. xx Maggie #76
Your desk does look quite tidy, wish mine was LOL!
Hope you didn't have to stop a fight!
Happy crafting, Angela x #44
Such a tidy space and great way to use up the extra bits of white paper that you have so handy to have around :)

Like the look of that scrapbook page.

I have similar - I often wonder what the recycle centre must think of some of my rubbish :) I'm sue the Zetti stamps would be a surprise....
Love the secret smile. So sweet.
Happy WOYWW! a little late

You call that a pile?
I need to make a sign saying
"CAUTION!!!Look out for falling piles!!"
Thanks for visiting

I was going to say the same as Robyn! My pile of never ending paper comes from the copier and ridiculous number of pages that often print when you need to print an email or such. But I do use them. They often have better art on them as backgrounds than anything I manage to put on a card!
Lovely LO, so nice to see scrapbooking at a desk, I only ever seem to do it at a crop these days. The fracas in the garden caused a premature press of the old 'go' button there!!
Hi Elizabeth. Glad you liked my crapalanche ! I keep a pile of scrap paper too & often use it after it's been 'used' as it looks too good to throw away!
Hugs

So glad to hear you avoided a furry disaster Elizabeth!
I do the same thing with scrap paper, and just keep it hidden too!
Oh, what is Rudolph Day?? I've never heard of that!
And thanks for stopping by this week! The silver basket with the purple ribbon on my desk was actually something we made for my daughter's wedding a few weeks ago. Now I need to figure out what to do with it!!
Happy WOYWW (a few days late!)

Nice to hear I am not the only one to intervene when two cats are having a stand off.
I keep my scrap paper but in a box, so I use it for all sorts, like catching ep, trying stamps on, notes, etc.
it is so nice to have you back on WOYWW, I missed you when you were away.
Thanks for visiting me - am late because of being away from home and no signal - again!
Hugs, Neet xx 11
very busy desk with loads to look at. Like you I can't find the heart to put away stuff I will be using again in a short while...it has a place of prominence on one or the other of the surfaces! Just now getting around to getting back to people who posted on my desk/blog this past month...OMG! I sometimes think I travel way too much! Hope you are having a great summer! Vickie #75
Love the scrap pages. BJ#69
I use it all up too lol. I like to practice my lettering whilst I make my lists, sometimes I make bullets to test my stickles. Wonderful layout! I see you keep your Black Soot close to hand as well. Thanks for visiting my blog earlier in the week! #4
