Morning WOYWWers, Followers and All,
I'm back and I hope this finds you all well and raring to show all :) For those of you who are not so well or otherwise troubled for whatever reason, I sincerely hope things improve for you over the coming week.
Yes, it's good to be back after my non-appearance last week. I was feeling a tad fraught last week, seemed to be chasing my tail, and decided to take time out in the hope of catching up. Did I? NO!!! Still chasing my tail, or, as Julia puts it, 'running a big behind' :) And if you, dear reader, are wondering what I'm chuntering on about, it's What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday ... the day I, along with about 130 other crafters, reveal all ... on our desk, of course :) This is a global phenomenon hosted weekly by the redoubtable Julia over on Stamping Ground ... the place to go to join in the fun. So, today I plan to catch up with you all and return to the backlog tomorrow :)
So what is on my desk ... well, just the card I'm working on at the moment and all the attendant fall-out, card, stamps, ink pads, glue tape runner, pencil, bone thingy ... and, oh yes .... ta da, ta da ... the brayer. It's not often the brayer is seen on my desk, but I got it out and brushed the dust off for this card. Under the brayer is my collection of Big and Juicy ink pads ... thought I should release them from captivity too ... the theory being, if I can see them, I'll make more use of them!!! Well, it's a theory :)
Propped up at the back is a print-out of a digital stamp I have lined up for one of the cards in the Alphabet series ... can you guess the letter this will fit? Beside it is my first attempt at the card topper ... messed up the stamping so had to start again ... sigh!
So that's the state of my desk this morning. But not for long ... I'll be finishing off that card and clearing up the mess before starting on the next. Truth is, I'm almost all Christmassed out now, with about 60 cards in stock, and with a few more in the pipeline, which should be enough for this year and maybe even next! So, I've already made a New Year's resolution to leave off making Christmas cards, when I've completed the Alphabet series, till July 2012 and hopefully make time for more scrapbooking instead ... well, that's the plan :)
Okay, that's enough of me blethering on ... time to make a cuppa and settle down to blog-hopping so see you soon :)
Happy crafting,
60 - way to go! Haven't even started... I know the chasing feeling - feeling zonked too and in need of some down time but the crafty den is so inviting. You sound like you're on a mission - wishing you gusto!!!

I am rapidly comming to the conclusion that I have had enough of Christmas too, and there are so many other things I want to have a go at. I feel guilty though as I was going to finish up all the old stash to make room for things I really want to do. We will see! I do like that card on your oh-so-tidy desk, really stylish.
ReplyDeleteAll Christmassed out? Say it isn't so! It's just begun my friend! I have to admit though, you've been very speedy at getting those cards done and good for you, that's a big part of the season for us crafter! Thanks for sharing your desk and have a wonderful week!

ReplyDeleteThank you for your lovely comments! Which Wilton were you stationed at? The one near Salisbury or the village near Marlborough? Both are beautiful! I go shopping in Salisbury, I like the little shops and interesting streets. Great market on Tues and Sat too :)

ReplyDeleteI don't see a messed up topper at all! The brayer work on your skies is lovely. I am feeling Christmas block. Which gives me a panic!! Well done you for being ready to move on. I know everyone says it Elizabeth, but don't you work tidily!
ReplyDeleteVery neat desk but very productive, yes sometimes we lose our mojo or just dont feel like doing anything and thats ok, we bounce back after, heck I lost my mojo for 2 years!!

Love the Let it Snow card! Must say, I love the snow and we try to go skiing when possible. The ski season here is pretty short (and about 5 hours south) and absolutely no chance of snow where I live! There's a lot of talk of Christmas cards so I guess I had better take the hint and get started! Thanks for visiting my blog. I do appreciate your comments.
ReplyDeleteThem thar chickens are blathering about that Lad Leaning on the Lamp post!!!
ReplyDeleteWell done on completing your cards and the ones on your desk are beautiful.
You are right... I am so excited about the family coming from Germany. First time here in a year with the little one being so ill. I saw her in August but my DH couldn't go so this trip is extra special to us all and I'm even going to do a Christmas Dinner!
Love JoZarty x
That looks to be a pretty card on your table Elizabeth. Wish I was up to your number with my "C" cards. Getting ready for a workshop and got a cold so going a bit slow at the moment. That's the reason for my Vagabond being out but I am a CB fan just like you - each machine I own has its own specific time to be used but I do love my CB like you do. Thanks for sharing - Hugs, Neet x #11
ReplyDeletea gorgeous desk, I love the stamped image propped up, never seen it before and now need it x
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful card I've found on your desk. Love the colours and the small houses. Yes, I find out that my helper (named 'little sister' or in Dutch 'zusje')looks very similar to 'The Boss'. She's always in my neighbourhood, especially when I work with flowers. Mostly she's trying to steal one for her own collection. Thanks for sharing.

that card looks really gorgeous
ReplyDeleteI am amazed at how busy you have been and still consider yourself to be a big behind...My husband tells me to slow down and look at what I have completed and quit beating myself for what I haven't. Congrats on the blog candy win at Judes blog...Hope you have a great week. Thanks for sharing. Vickie #68
ReplyDeleteLooks like you know how to work that brayer:) Not something I've had much luck with! Beautiful card.
ReplyDeleteLovely let it snow card. I would say the letter L maybe. hugs Mrs A. #113.
ReplyDeleteHi Elizabeth. Your desk is really tidy compared to mine. I have not long finished wedding invites and never caught up with all my other tasks. Hugs Rita xxx
