I'm either up late or up early ... depending on how you look at ... The Boss clearly thinks it's late, and that I should be in bed by now, and she's being very vocal about it too. By this time most nights she's usually snuggled down at the bottom of the bed! But I have an am date with a physiotherapist so I thought I'd reveal what's on my desk now and be one of the early signing in for a change. And if you are thinking early for what, then pop along to the Stamping Ground where Julia, Queen of the Desks, very kindly hosts this weekly reveal ... yes, a tidy few of us put our workdesks/dining tables/kitchen wortops/trays/floors - wherever we craft in fact - up for inspection ... and you're very welcome to join in the fun :)
So here's what's on my desk tonight ... looking quite busy for a change. I've been wanting to have a bash at paper piecing for some time now, but never quite got round to it. So what you see it my first tiny attempt at this technique with this little flower. Most of what's lying there are the materials to make the card.
Hiding at the back are the two projects I made at class on Monday ... still haven't photographed them to blog about yet. There's a couple of jars of buttons still out after me looking for suitable ones to go in the centre of the two flowers that I've stamped and cut out for the card. There's some embossed co-ordination waiting to be sanded before adding to the card. Inks, papers, adhesives, scissors, bakers twine, etc., all out because I've been using them and somehow I've resisted the temptation to put them away until I'm sure I've done with them. The little blue dish right at the back has some Christmas die-cuts I did recently, not found a real home for them so they will stay there until I do, and next to that is my bucket where I keep scissors, pliars, snips handy.
Right, that's it for now ... I'm off to bed to get some beauty sleep and let Bonnie get settled down for the night too. If there are any typos/spelling/grammar mistakes put it down to the silly hour, please :)
See you all some time tomorrow and in the meantime I hope you all have a wonderful WOYWW day.
Happy crafting,

Happy crafting XX Sharne
Hope you and Bonnie got a good night's sleep. Still think your desk is tidy but maybe mine is always untidy even when I think it is tidy. I know it shrinks!
Not done paper piercing in a long while - good luck with it.
Thanks so much for sharing - Hugs, Neet #8
Hi there. Just a quick peek around the door this week as time is definitely not on my side! I did want to visit though. Enjoy your paper piecing
Like those flowers, and I like paper piecing, can totally transform the look of a stamp. Cute flowers too, but your desk still looks tidy to me!
happy WOYWW

Aww, you little flower looks so cute Elizabeth, I love the colour you’ve used.
Paper piecing isn’t something I do often but I think I may have to give it a go again after seeing your efforts.
Happy Crafting!

I've put buttons in those jars as well!!
Love your flowers and I really like this combination of colors, the tender green and the powerful red - wonderful!
The paper piecing looks great, and I love the little flowers too!! Hugs, LLJ xx
Have never tried paper piecing - yet another thing to learn. One question though - how on earth do you keep your workspace so tidy? I make such a mess. Look forward to seeing your finished card.
I have never tried paper piercing ...no patience. I love your flowers with a button and bakers twine. i thought I had not dropped by for ages when i saw how prolific you had been ...but it was only a few days. How wonderful and interesting your 'porridge' visit was...I knew nothing of this ..I knew the amunition girls had it hard and many died in explosions and related illnesses. ... and all those shots of rations from WWII interest me so much especially recipes. My mum said she loved dried eggs but few did.
Glad we share the inability to make our mind up over paper etc ...I think I might be going back to the first paper I looked at for my LO!! ...lol.xx
thanks for the crafty peek elizabeth...happy WOYWW...hugs kath xxx
Such and neat and organised desk as always Elizabeth. I have only done a little bit of paper piecing but enjoyed it alot. Can't wait to see your finished project.
The door hanger came from Argos. The grand cost of £6.99 too, a bargain as it's quite strong and would easily hold fairly heavy things as the metal hangers are sturdy. I'm sure your local one will have more stocks in soon. Maybe they would order one for you.
Have a good week.
Hugs Lisax
Great paper piecing Elizabeth and a nice neat work area! Late with my hop this week - still wrestling with wedding stationery! Anything but neat here right now :( Di xx

I love the flowers! Both those cut out and the ones drawn in the circle. And btw...didn't you mention slugs on your comment at my blog?!? (Big smiley face). I think if I'm seeing correctly...which isn't always the case these days...that there is a slug on your tool bucket!!! You've found a way to make them cute. And the cabinet door is adorable. Nice peek. :)
Cute little flowers and you look very well organised there Elizabeth. x Jo
Thanks for your visit earlier and your kind comments. It is always good to hear from you. Thise projects on your desk are looking very interesting and such pretty colours. I also like the card lurking at the back with that crisp embossing. Hope the paper piercing goes well.
Thanks for dropping by my blog. Your desk is very tidy and the paper piecing is interesting. Happy WOYWWW

Sounds like you are very focused in what you are doing and your desk looks remarkably tidy nonetheless. Well you know what a messer I am!!!

Doesn't Ikea do well with us crafters!!
Liking what I see on your desk this week.
Hope the snow hasn't hit you yet - I understand it wont be long!
It is so interesting to see how crafters have all sorts of different methods of working! Which is probably why WOYWW is so popular!
You have all your pieces ready here and I see I am late enough visiting that the finished card is the post above.
Thanks for visiting earlier!
xoxo Karen
I LOVE doing paper piecing - you get such instant and unique results! The flower stamp looks like the freebie from Craft Stamper...?
Not sure I know what paper piecing is, but I am trying to learn the lesson you shared in not putting things away until you have finished with them. I seem to do that TOO much. Enjoyed your desk this week, though (#11).
Love the button jars- I have those in my kitchen full of herbs- boring me!Running a bit late this week, have a good week, Shaz
Just saw your question about the Shoe Hanger on Lisa's blog. Have you tried your local Poundland, or similar, if you have one? I know they have them in ours.
Late snooping around desks this week (aren't I always!). Lots of lovely things going on, also loving the christmas alphabet cards you have since posted. How gorgeous are jars full of buttons :) Thanks for sharing!
Now see I really must tidy up!!!
Love the projects at the back, got one of those from Nigel the other day, now do I take it apart to make sure I get it right?
