It's Wednesday and that makes it What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday and I'm very late today, so no shilly-shallying about, here's the desk:
.What can I say? It's a mess. In an attempt to fill all the days of isolation I've signed up for Shimelle's latest class and Nicole Jones Scrapathon 5. Both at the same time. Am I mad? No. This is to prevent madness.
Which is why there's this humongous pile of homemade paper kits on the right side of the desk. Hopefully enough to keep me going for however long is needed.
And on the left - all sorts of goodies. Some will be useful, others will not, but they are there just in case.
And so about Coronavirus and how it's affecting the EM and I and our family. We both, at 81 and 72, fit into the category considered most at risk. I have asthma too which as it has been troublesome recently and I've needed extra treatment. All good reasons to stay home and follow the guidelines according to the NHS.
And that would be fine if it weren't for hearing that my beloved daughter may have caught the virus. She too is now confined to quarters for at least the next fortnight. I'm concerned. Of course I am, but what is helping is being able to keep in touch with both her, and the rest of the family, through social media.
If ever there was a time to stay in touch, this is it. So to quote from Julia. "we’ll take one day at a time and be here for each other ... you don’t have to be alone - if you’re feeling it, ask for some digital company; somewhere round the world someone will be up and happy to chat."
Take care and keep well,
PS: if there are any mistakes in this post, please forgive me. I wrote this in a hurry.
Hi Elizabeth, I'm in the high risk category too, so staying home and trying to avoid humans, lol. I do hope your daughter recovers quickly. Indeed, Social Media/Internet is an absolute godsend during this, we can still keep up with all our friends and relatives. Stay safe, have a good week, Hugs, Shaz #6 X
ReplyDeleteI think you're doing the right thing by planning to keep as busy as possible, we're social distancing too as G falls into the vulnerable category. I just feel sorry for all those small businesses. I sincerely hope your daughter hasn't got the virus, if if she has, then it's mild. It's my intention to ring a friend every day so watch out, it could be you!!

That's a great idea, signing up to online classes - and with isolation and social distancing possibly for months to come there is no excuse to fall by the wayside and not keep them up! I do hope your daughter recovers quickly, social media really is a Godsend as Shaz says.
ReplyDeleteStay safe and have a good week,

I hope your daughter recovers soon but thank goodness for technology that lets you all keep in touch.. I think you have enough paper there for a wee while!!! stay very safe! Helen #3
ReplyDeleteI've named us SID's (social isolation/distancing) because with my age and heart/copd I too am with you. But lets turn this horrible thing around and get crafting, flood the world with our makes and make it a brighter place for everyone.
ReplyDeleteGreat products, great tutors and a lovely time ahead of you. You and the Em take care of one another. Thoughts and prayers for your daughter too.
Hugs, Neet 1 xx
Hi Elizabeth. Sorry to hear about your daughter and hope she's better soon. Keep crafting and wishing you a very happy and creative woyww, Angela x12x
ReplyDeleteHi Elizabeth, I have asthma too and I am social distancing. Unfortunately I am unable to work from home and at the moment work is not willing for me to be off unless I have been specifically told by my GP to stay at home. I have cancelled all classes and am avoiding going out on my days off. I hope that your daughter is better soon and that she has only mild symptoms. Happy WOYWW. Stay safe. Sarah #2
ReplyDeleteYour desk is a haven, I hope the online classes keep you lost in paper and enjoyment for ages! Am huffing and puffing to read that your daughter may have it; Of course your concerned. I bet like me, she is more concerned that she doesnt bring it to others...especially as I read that you can be asymptomatic and that does fear me a bit. Whatever...you two must stay in each others company and do whatever is necessary to keep well. Right now, a rather large yacht in the middle of an azure blue sea sounds good to me...!
ReplyDeleteI do hope your daughter recovery goes along smoothly. So glad we have access to the internet and food and still have social services in place. Strange year we have entered. Stay safe and keep crafting.... what else can we do :)

Hi Elizabeth. Glad you are able to stay home and keep yourselves busy - but I'm sure you are indeed concerned about your daughter. Trusting she recovers soon. It's hard when there is no immediate and close contact!
ReplyDeleteYour desk looks just great - lots going on, plenty of opportunity to do things when you are up for it.
Take care. Stay safe. God bless.

Hi Elizabeth, I hope your daughter makes a speedy recovery, it is such a worrying time for everyone. This situation really is having a worldwide impact on everyone's lives. Enjoy all your crafting goodies, you certainly are well stocked up. Stay safe, and have a lovely week Heather xx #13
ReplyDeleteI'm loving the busy desk and the home made kits and the plan to keep busy. I hope that your daughter is OK and makes a quick recovery. Take care my friend. Happy belated WOYWW. With love & God Bless, Caro x (#14)
ReplyDeleteHi Elizabeth sorry i'm later than usual but wanted to take extra time this week and leave a little extra in the light of things. So sorry to read about your Daughter but we can all be grateful for technology and the ways we can now keep connected. Well done for signing up to the classes, i'm sure they will keep you occupied over the coming weeks.. best to keep yourselves safe and out of harms way. With my Hubby having his recent heart problems and emphysema too i'm having too keep my distance from him whilst taking care of both Mum's needs and making sure they all have enough food in, difficult when selfish people take more than they need from the stores but someone has to go outside and attend to their needs. It's been a very tiring week I have to say but we've got through it. Stay string & safe, we will get through it.. Take care Hugs Tracey xx
ReplyDeleteAhyes wise move there, Elizabeth, keep ourselves busy, I’m certainly doing that, praying for you and EM and DD.
ReplyDeleteLovely desky share sorry I’m so late and brief.
Thanks for being a blessing, and may God bless you too, especially in these troubled times, may we look up in faith! Praying you’re all kept well too!
Hugs, Shaz in Oz.x 😊
