WOYWW - Week 562

Hello and Good Morning to you all,

It's Wednesday and that makes it What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday so without the usual preamble here's what's on mine today.
It may look like it but it's not really a mess. I know everything that's there and why. The print-outs are there to be cut out, the papers are there because I was working with them last night to make the layout that's lying underneath everything, and the ink/paint bottles/daubers are there for the same reason. The scissors, glue tape, piercing tool, and the tray and dish of embellishments are, I hope, self - explanatory.
Here's the layout. The background was created with the help of the dauber bottles, by Jane Davenport, and Mister Huey's Color Mist, Plumb Thumb, and Heidi Swapp's Color Shine, Ocean. It's messy but effective, and fun too. The photos are reminders of a long ago holiday in Malta, July 1987!

I managed a little bit of sewing.
The EM requested a zipper bag to store the miscellaneous bits and bobs he keeps in the car boot - don't ask, I've no idea! It's made from some left over furnishing fabric and the lining was cut from an old curtain.

Finally:

That's it from me this week. I'm off now to see what Julia and our fellow deskers have been showing us today.

Take care everyone and have a great week ahead.

  1. Hi Ellie. I love the LO and the little red bag....the one you made me is being put to good use as my 'hand sewing in the living room in an evening' bag and I really love the clear part at the bottom cos I can find all the little pieces I@m searching for easily.

  5. great looking layout and bag! My husband has a bunch of stuff laying about so a bag would definitely help in keeping it organized. Might steal your idea! Your meme hits a point with me...my husband is clueless how much is in my craft room...I told dear daughter to get in there and clear it out before he can trash it should I die before him! Have a great week. Vickie #26

  7. Oh I did have a little chuckle over the Last will and testament quote. Could not be any more perfect for us crafters. The LO looks perfect and interesting how you achieved the splatter technique. Stay safe and keep crafting.

  9. Love your "finally" - I might just send that on to a certain someone whose wife said that when I go she will order a skip for all my craft stuff. I'm not going to quibble about spending now! Thanks.
Love the bag you made for your other half, it's a bit posh so I hope he takes good care of it and keeps it clean and tidy after all your hard work.
Great LO for Valetta, was trying to work out if I was in Malta around that time, great "splats" - I remember someone showing us how to do them with Bingo markers. LOL

  10. Hi Elizabeth, belated happy WOYWW. My hubby has all sorts of bits and bobs in his boot, and glovebox. I might borrow your idea to make a bag for his glovebox, save everything rattling around in there. I love the last will and testament- Mr M will be clueless if he ever needed to sort through my craft room. Maybe I should actually catalogue what there is of value - or just convince my daughters to take up crafting! I love the splats on the layout, so simple but effective. Have a lovely week Heather xx #21

  11. I love your lay out with those splash-dots... looks fun! I, too, have very old photo's that I still use from time to time to make a lay out, I usually love those more than scrapping with 'new' photos. I hope you are well, stay save dear! Big hug (a virtual one, we're adviced to not shake hands anymore in the Netherlands...) Marit #7

  13. Nice bright layout! Lots of vibrancy and action. I love the little (big?) bag you made for the car. We just bought a new mini-SUV and something like that would be perfect for the back! Maybe even a few...I may have lots of free time coming up so that would be a great project. Have a great week, keep well, Lindart #20
