What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday - WOYWW Week 409

Hi Everyone,

Late again for What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday over at Julia's Stamping Ground! Our Internet was iffy earlier, it kept going off and on - such a pain! We also needed to switch everything off while an electrician fitted a new alarm - not such a pain. He did a really neat job. All this meant I had to find something else to do - i.e. apart from housework - and I did.
Embossing with the Grand Calibur. Repetitive but fun. This job has been on my to-do list for way too long so I decided this morning was the perfect opportunity to get out the basket of card scraps, my stash of underused embossing folders and the equally underused GC. It's not riveting stuff but that box of embossed cardstock should come in very useful for cardmaking. I think I might move on to die-cutting next.

I've made a wee bit of progress on the embroidery project. That's triple blanket stitch I'm working on at the moment.

And that is all I have to report this week.

Hope you've had a very happy WOYWW and here's to a great crafty week ahead.

  1. This is on my to-do list as well and you have inspired me to drag all my stuff downstairs and get a stash started, too. The embroidery is coming along. Beautiful stitching. Diane #8

  3. It's always worth getting out the bit box and getting things ready, whether it be embossing or die cutting. Look forward to seeing what you do with all your embossed pieces. Sarah #4

  4. Hi Elizabeth, I too made a whole stack of die cut cardstock, you are right, it makes a great stash to just create from. Have a lovely week, Hugs, Shaz #6 XxX

  6. Never heard of triple blanket stitch before. Long time since I did any embroidery.
Enjoy your embossing - I bought a big folder (A4) and I am looking forward to using it and cutting it up as it makes rectangles to use as card fronts.
    Have a good week Elizabeth.

  7. Hi Elizabeth. It seems an age since I visited you so it's lovely to catch up. I'm glad you managed to make good use of the time, I'm sure that embossed card will come in really useful. I seem to stick to my cuttlebug, the GC is a bit too big to keep moving around and so gets ignored unless I want to emboss something big.
    Have a good week.

  10. Your embroidery is getting more and more complicated! beautiful! I'm glad you managed to find something to do while the electricity was down - it's amazing how much we rely on little things like light bulbs and internet! I'm sure you feel better with a working alarm in your house, I know we do! Thanks for sharing, Lindart #38

  12. Ooh, you're doing embroidery too! How lovely is that, it looks like a sampler 💖💖. I love what BJ has been doing too and think I might have to find my flosses and give it a go. Hope your internet woes are resolved very soon!
