WOYWW 206

Hello all you lovely WOYWWers, Followers and Fellow Bloggers

Another Wednesday means another opportunity to go desk hopping, courtesy of our head desk keeper and multi-tasker, Julia Dunnit, over at the Stamping Ground. I trust you are all desperate to reveal whatever state, messy or tidy, your desk/floor/dining or kitchen table/kitchen worktop, or even your Betsy, is :) Here's mine:

And it's covered in stuff! Stuff that I've been using to make the pink and white baby card - the EM now has a great great-niece ... or great grand niece depending where you are on this planet. He's chuffed to bits :) So what you see is all the supplies - embossing folders, ProMarkers, stamps, ribbon, embroidery silk, and other essential crafty items. The red box to the left, resting on the ProMarker boxes, is full of skeins of silk, leftover from my needlework days.  The sad looking bottle with the pearl-headed pin sticking out of it is Anita's glossy glue ... the top has suffered some abuse at my hands so the pin stops it from gumming up. The tarted up cat boxes are still remarkably tidy and proving their worth. Upper right, just in front of the scissors holder, is a pile of wood mounted stamps waiting to be indexed. On top of that is the bag I made at SU classes, now used for storing the card scraps I spent several hours this week patiently trimming to topper size ... it's only my theory but this should speed the process of cardmaking, well, at least by a tad. Of course, the TV remotes are handy ... I like a bit of company while I work ... and next to them are two super cards received from  lovely blogging friends, Janet and Di :)

I think that's about it for this week. I'll be popping in on as many of you as I can manage, if not today, then over the coming week. However, if the sun comes out at all, I'll be gone ... playing hooky ... I make no apology because we have just endured yet another cold and miserable week ... and I need some vitamin D!

I wish you all a lovely WOYWW and a great day, wherever you are and whatever you are doing.

Happy crafting,

  1. Oh Elizabeth, you have made Betsy blush!!! LOVE, LOVE the baby card!! Your restored cat boxes keep reminding me that I want to make something like this to put the mail in. DH just leaves it all over the bar.....then wants me to find it, typical DH!!! Me thinks I'll go look for some type of box to get me started. Haven't got WOYWW posted yet, still Tues. afternoon here. Will post later. Hope you do get your vitamin D!!!!

  4. Sun, sun, you are hopeful aren't you Elizabeth! Woke this morning here in Northumberland, to grey skies. Did have a few spells of sunshine yesterday but still windy.
Love to see the recycled boxes. I have lots in the garage waiting to be used but problem is where to put them when they are done. Space is a premium now.
Flat Susan should be with you before you go away as Jo has strict instructions.
    Take care.
    Love, Neet xx 40

  10. That card is sooooooo cute!! A G G niece, huh? That's lovely news to share!
You made me laugh thinking of yu singing that song to your bairns....with mine it was 'What shall we do with the drunken sailor'!!! The verses got worse as we we went along and we used to make up our own version. The happiest, simplest and daftest things are so often the best :)

Oh and just so you know about my stamp storage I stamp the stamps on the other side and put little colour coded dots on them so I know which is which company it's worked so far and I can remember them that way other wise I'd forget who's who lol

The cat food upcycled boxes look great.Amazing what we can create from nothing and turn it into a really useful thing of beauty.

I finally managed to get some garden photos up on a post late last night. My blooms are nowhere near your gorgeous photos of your blossoms but I am pleased with what we got done...finally!

  21. G'day Elizabeth
thanks for dropping by my blog and leaving a comment for WOYWW. As usual I'm late getting around but here I am at last :o). OMG you are a prolific creator. I love all your cards before and after this post. The pink baby card is awesome, the less is more cards too etc etc. It's making me feel I need to get my paper crafts out and put my metal working stuff away LOL. Actually instead of one desk I'd like three ideally then I can have different work areas for different tasks!
    hugs

  22. And it's Di still playing catch up!

Oh dear, I truly can't imagine you being anything but a very neat and tidy little crafter really :(

Anita's Gloss - I've had dreadful problems over many years with that stuff. However, this week I invested (online) in a bottle of Ranger Glossy Accents. Oh Elizabeth, there truly is no comparison. Thje nozzle is very fine, just like Stickles, with a good lid. It hasn't stuck fast on the nozzle/lid like the Anitas - plus it seems to dry mahoosively faster!

Maybe when you next need glossy stuff you could try that - I wish I'd done so a long while ago.But hey, you could well be coping fine in which case why did I just type all this carp?! :)

    Hugs, Di xx
