WOYWW - Week 149 - Therapy in Scrapping a Layout

Good Morning WOYWWers, Followers and All,

Yes, it's the day we are invited by Julia, over at the Stamping Ground, to join her in revealing what is on our workdesk and what it is that you are working on, or not working on, whatever the case may be - to join in the fun just click the WOYWW icon on the sidebar to the left - so here's what's on mine today.

As you can see I'm putting together a scrapbook layout with some lovely papers I have had forever! I bought them in a sale the year before last and have been hoarding them, along with too many more, ever since :) They looked good with the photos of the lambs, as seen on last Wednesday's WOYWW post, so time to get the templates and the scissors out. The TH ink pads are there to ink the edges with - haven't decided which of the two colours to use yet. There's a bunch of flower shapes and a couple of cut out butterflies that I'm going to do something with before placing them on the page. You can also see a couple of rulers mixed up with the information strips trimmed from the patterned paper, more templates, my coaster without a cuppa on it, the timer I rarely use and my much treasured WOYWW badge :) And barely visible are the two containers of crafting arsenal - adhesives, scissors, etc.

I had a truly eventful holiday weekend one way or another - mentioned in a previous post so I won't repeat myself - so I had absolutely no crafting time at all until yesterday when I decided that what was needed was some scrapping therapy.

I hope you all had a happy holiday weekend and that Tuesday didn't come as too much of a shock to you. Welcome to my newest followers, Heather, Julie, Huzurla,  Jacki, and Brenda, it's lovely to have you join me :)

Mindful of Julia asking us to keep it brief, I'll close now ... it's after midnight so I should get off to bed anyway ... I want to be bright-eyed and bushy-tailed to get around to see as many of you as possible in the morning.

Have a great day and happy WOYWW to you all,

  1. I'm really loving your paper. I have noticed, though, that paper is like fashion. After awhile, it gets "old." Even well loved companies like Basic Gray and Graphic 45 change their designs every year or so. What I LOVED last year (even though I'm not really a paper person) I find stale this year. That's why I've decided my paper has to go or get painted over. Glad to see you are using yours.

  16. Hi Elizabeth,

I'm doing a little snooping before my day starts. I hope all is well on the family front.

The papers look great with the lamb photos. You are absolutely right, crafting does help to calm and focus on something different, if only for a short time.

    Hugs,

  19. You get a real sense of satisfaction from using old stash - I always feel very virtuous indeed :)
I'm sorry to hear about Graham, but at least it was found out and can be dealt with. My darling DH hadn't been feeling well (this is a few years back) went to the docs, sent straight to the cardiac dept and found out he needed heart surgery. It was all a bit of a shock as you well know. He ended up having a quad bypass and do you know, it was the best thing that could have happened. He's hale and hearty and if he hadn't had the op, well, I might be a widow right now because the blockage was so bad. So tell your daughter to keep the faith, it WILL be ok.
    With love, LLJ #3 xx

  23. I love those photos of the sheep and lambs. I have a load of papers and decoupage that are really not in fashion now, but I am using them to clear them out. I think a lot of them will get punched and copped to make other things. Thank you for your visits today and your lovely comments on both posts. they were mostly fun to do. Have a good week. xx Maggie #2

  26. Hi Elizabeth! Lovely layout coming along there. Others comments have made me realise I need to dive into those whole pads of paper I've just been stroking and looking at!

Hope news is better on the family front, I've been thinking about you.

A dear friend died on Saturday night (Mary of the Tuesday tale pickled egg business) - and, total shock, Ken her husband died yesterday :( So sad, but smiling wryly, I wonder if she said 'So what kept you?'. In lots of ways he's been spared the loneliness.

Sorry I'm late hopping over, yesterday was manic as you can imagine! Belated Happy WOYWW. Di xx

  30. Beautiful lamb pictures Elizabeth. We saw some gorgeous ones the other day and they were all leaping about in true "spring lamb" fashion!

Thanks for your lovely comments on my blog. Glad you like my new blog background! I actually used a combination of CraftArtist and Serif PhotoPlus to create it. As for my Choc-a-Bloc mixed media project, I'm waiting for a clay extruder to arrive from Ebay to do the next stage, and I need to make some small rocks out of polymer clay! I have no idea how it will turn out (or even if it will work) so we shall have to see! It's good to experiment sometimes.

    Happy belated WOYWW,
