Friday Smiles

Hello Friday Smilers

Joining in with Annie's weekly smile meme over on the A Stitch In Time

This last week has been a bit of a mixed bag, blighted by illness for the three of us on the one hand and, on the other hand, our garden has simply burst into flower and looks amazing. So, I'm sure you know what's coming - loads of photos.

We had a new patio built just outside the kitchen door. to make it safer and easier for Alan to get access to his mobility scooter.

My granddaughter's partner, Kyle, has done a great job in what was a very uneven surface. There's still some finishing off to do but first he had a wee accident to sort out which delayed the work.

Oops!!! Great-granddaughter Lacie stepped into her dad's beautifully smoothed cement work. It was getting late too so dad doesn't look at all happy. Much to my shame, I couldn't stop laughing.

Later, after they had gone home, this happened.
Silver left her mark too. We've decided to keep those paw prints for posterity.

Before I move on to the garden, I just have to share these pics of our Callum.

It was mad hair day at school and he opted for green ... I think he looks fabulous.

And now a trip round our garden.

I think that's enough for today. We have more changes planned for the garden, all intended to make it easier for me to manage in future. As it is now, it's very labour intensive and good gardeners are hard to find, so changes need to be made. We're very fortunate to have a handyman like Kyle in the family, able and willing to help with what needs to be done.

I hope you've all had a lovely week with plenty to smile about.  And for more reasons to smile do pop over to Annie's and check out both her's and other Smilers posts.

Bye for now
Elizabeth

  1. Sorry to hear you've not been feeling too good and hope you're better now. It's so good to have someone in the family that can do jobs, you must keep him happy. He has good reason not to smile though. My friend accross the road has paw prints that their cat left behind too, sadly gone now to the kitties heaven. That definitely is mad hair for sure! The garden looks lovely but I know what you mean about trying to make it easier to manage, good luck with sorting it. Have a good weekend, Angela xXx

  2. Hi Elizabeth, Calum's hair is so cool, he suits it. Lovely blooms in your garden and I just love that Silver's pawmarks will be there for evermore, Kate x

  3. It's so good to see you joining in the fun this week Ellie. I love how the garden is looking...I'm all for making things easy so you can just enjoy being out in the garden. I love Callum's hair....I was only just looking at a photo of our Mark with sprayed silver hair for a crazy hair day at school many years ago :-)
    Take care both of you.
    Hugs,
    Annie x

  4. Thank you for taking me round your garden. I must say it is beautiful! Lots of flowers.
Sad to hear you have all been ill. I hope things are better now.
A lovely tiled patio. Lucky you to have a handyman in the family. I love the paw marks and I think I also would have laughed at the footprints.
Callum's green hair indeed suits him (and it matches his school uniform). And he has a gorgeous smile!
    Have a lovely weekend,
    Hugs,
    Lisca

  6. I have been offline since early Friday morning when a lightening strike took out the transformer in my neighborhood. Sorry to visit so late. Hope by now you are feeling MUCH better.

Nice to have family who will help fix things for you. I am not sure how much I would have laughed, but I can appreciate the problem. Bleubeard once walked across some wet handmade paper I was making for a friend. Needless to say, I kept the paper for myself and my love for him.

I hope you have a super weekend and feel much better by this time next Friday.
