What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday - Week 495

Hello Everyone

I'm posting early for WOYWW this week and here's why:

My desk! It's immaculate!! I thought I'd let you see it like this ... it's a miracle!!!

And here's why it is now so clutter free:
The new trolley. When I spotted this beauty in Hobbycraft's Black Friday sale I just had to have it. And now it is the holder of all the clutter that messed up the desk.

Here it is in it's new home:
On the left of my desk ready to be wheeled out when required. The EM is well impressed.

It's getting cold and frosty in these parts so I've started having a real winter warmer for breakfast - porridge oats. Trouble is the bowl gets too hot to hold - not good.  Here's the answer to that little problem - a bowl cosy.
I whipped it up this evening using very easy instructions from Happy Hour Stitches.

No book review this week. I'm downloading Christmas themed books in advance with the intention of bingeing throughout the festive season. They'll make a change from the crime thrillers that I've been sharing recently.

If you haven't participated in What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday before but fancy joining in the fun do pop over to the Stamping Ground where you can find all the information you need here. It's really too easy, post a photo of your desk, tidy or messy it doesn't matter, and add your link to all the others. It's fun, you'll see.

In the meantime, have a very happy WOYWW and a great week ahead.

  2. Your trolley is very impressively filled! The cynic in me thinks before long the desk will be full of other "stuff" ... or maybe that's just what I'd be like. Have a great week. Helen #5

  3. Morning Elizabeth. Love the trolley, very bling and they are really useful aren't they. That bowl cosy is a great idea, I didn't know they existed, let alone that you could get a pattern online to make one. Happy WOYWW. Sarah #10

  4. Those trolleys are a godsend, aren't they? Trouble is, I don't even have space to park one, no matter how useful they are :/
    Happy WOYWW :)

  5. Love the new trolley...just a perfect way of clearing all the stuff off your desk but keeps it close by for when you need it. Love the little bowl holder too...I made some a couple of years back and they get used lots....hope you remembered to use 100% cotton [even the thread] for use in the microwave.

  9. We are 2 peas in a pod! That's exactly my breakfast every morning, and I have a bowl holder too! I didn't make it though, I think I will try and make a couple more - they are VERY handy (and mine has a burnt hole in it. . .)! Your desk does look nice and tidy, that trolley is a great thing to have! If it were my desk, however, the things on the trolley would soon end up back on my desk, and the trolley would be filled with even more things. . .LOL! Have a great week! Lindart #22

  10. Hi Elizabeth, I have porridge every mirning for breakfast - summer and winter. The cardiac nurse recommended it. I saw the trolley in the Hobbycraft sale, but I think it's just a tad too tall to go under my workdesk. I was tempted though as it had great reviews. Congrats on the lovely tidy desk. Have a lovely week Heather x #8

  13. I thought I'd come to the wrong blog there for a moment!! ;-) Wow, that trolley is going to be so useful, I love the way you've arranged everything, all nicely to hand. The bowl cosy is fun, I've made a couple in the past as gifts!

  15. Now that has to be the tidiest desk I’ve ever seen!! Love the new trolley, Elizabeth. I’ve often thought of having one, but the trouble is I haven’t got room. With the pull-out unit on my right, and the continuation of the worktop sweeping around to the left, I don’t know where I’d put it. I am a very untidy worker and usually work amidst chaos!! I really need to have a good sort-out in my studio - when I look back at its early days it looks so tidy and organised!! I’ve never heard of a bowl cosy - what a smashing idea. I have porridge every day and it would be great to keep it really hot. Are they easy to make?

Thank you for your lovely comment - so glad you like my flowers. All done now and I’m making excellent headway on the mystery project! Our kitties are the prettiest we’ve ever had, and so adorable with their little characters too. I do agree with you, they are with us for so short a time even if they live a good long kitty life. We have had so many since we got married in 1986 and two in particular lived tragically short lives, being killed on the road outside our old house, and we both grieved over our last 2 old ones who died within 3 weeks of each other. They are our little family and we love them all! So sorry about Bonnie.

    Happy belated WOYWW,

  16. Thanks for the link to the cereal bowl cosy. I too am having problems with a hot bowl of porridge in the morning and this is a brilliant answer to the problem. Hugs Mrs A.
